I just checked, both today and a little last night, on my N900 aircrack-ng is also showing length data as it should - for my family home network, I can also verify it's showing the correct length, so it's not like it's showing random numbers either.

Saturn, when you say "the N900 version doesn't return" this data for hidden networks, how are you getting the airodump-ng output into your Cleven program?

Let me clarify, when you ask the airodump to show you the AP then all is OK.
When you use the -w option in order to write this data in a file then the <length:x> is being replaced with a space. Therefore the information is lost.

do this for an example:
PS: of course and I knew you where the maintainer, just don't have much time lately and I wanted someone else to contact you. I didn't put your name there to avoid 100 mails with "it doesn't work!" info. The people that can find the maintainer of a package they could also give better info.

FYI, just uploaded 1.12-5 in extras-devel

Changes:
* Fix in the filename manipulations (avoid errors when AP names include "-" characters). [patch from mikemorrison]
* improved the startup screen.
* fix in the About window.
* addition of kernel-power v49 as a valid configuration.

In a couple of days, if no one complains will push to extras-testing too

after the upgrade to the new version the wpa decrypt does not work for me anymore, the window pops up then closes immediately

also the delete option does not work unless the all common button is highlighted.

Anybody else have same issues with the new version ?

This works for me.

Confirming this. It is affecting deletion of WEP (.ivs) files only.

Will have a closer look on both later and let you know.

PS: I have moved my SVN and there was a merge conflict which I had to solve manually - might be related.


EDIT: DO NOT UPGRADE -- SEVERAL REGRESSIONS -- wait for next version.
It is definitely the svn move and merge. The changes were applied to the v1.11 tree instead of the v1.12.

Will solve this and update as soon as I can. Sorry..

Saturn, thank You for latest update(s), issue with "all-common" has been finally fixed, at least for me. Overall, everything seems to work great (not mentioning already reported bugs), despite quite looong loading time. It is "a must", or still kernel-checks are performed in background, upon every restart? (BTW, before update, despite Cleven complaining about unsupported kernel, it was working fine...).

Also, despite stating in about:
... I still can't deauthenticate in WEP mode (whole bunch of clients at all connected to AP, i'm *not* talking about single-client aimed deauth)), it shows "deauthenticate" button only in WPA mode.

So, slowly, I'm loosing hope to see this option in Cleven - still need to invoke this (relatively simple) command from x-term, or fAircrack. Not complaining, just whispering suggestion, cause it's last thing that is missing in Cleven, to provide full fAircrack replacement. And, it's *really* useful, when one want to quickly capture ARP for injecting. I would say, that it's even more (or at least the same factor) useful in WEP mode, than in WPA...

Same with me ! when i try to "deathenticate" on WPA networks the terminal screen just appears then closes.....this has only happed after the update. i have version 1.12-6

Sorry missed that. It tries to deauth a client instead of sending the broadcast - it doesnt have the client info and it fails.

will be fixed in the new version.

Any comment on request for WEP broadcast deauth, as posted in my last holy wall of text post? I'm not specialist, but it seems to be as hard to implement, as adding 1 button - You got it already for networks listed as WPA, method is the same, right? So, it's just matter of fact, that WEP-filtered networks doesn't show this button...

Doesn't want to sound trisha'ish, but... Pleeeeease ;)

I just sent the update and I was thinking that you will grill me for not adding your request.

I've tried it and the forth button in the last row makes it look very bad.
I will send your own special version if you wait a couple of days.

Version 2.1-1 has been uploaded to extras-devel.

In short, I hated the menu options and the complication to choose one of them - so i just removed them... :cool:

Changes:
* New Main window to provide faster and easier access to features.
* Modifications of classes to be called from the main window.
* Deprecation of "Delete captured files" menu option.
* Fix in the WPA deauthentication.
* Refactoring and code cleanup in multiple places.

Anyway, thanks for willing to do it at all, and of course I can wait. I just wonder, if You're going to get more requests for this "private version"...

Disclaimer: I'm not trying to smuggle conclusion, that if other people want this feature mainstream'ed, they should PM bomb You with priv version requests. Absolutely no, why should I? ;)

@Saturn - I understand what you were getting at with avoiding mentioning my name in the hopes of preventing me from getting spammed - that makes sense and I appreciate that.

Anyway, thank you for clarifiying what you meant. I'll look into that as well the moment I get the chance, although I don't think I have any saved airodump-ng packet dumps from an area where there was a network with a hidden ssid - so it might take me a bit to check whether or not hidden ssid length is being saved...

Hey, Your actual version actually ( ;) ) contains pretty nice empty space for deauth button... In fact, in WPA mode, other buttons disappear, and this sole button remain in mentioned pretty (empty in WEP mode) place...

Honestly, You could just add this, if not just to shut us up ;) I bet my left shoe, that no one is ever going to complain about it looking "ugly" with four buttons...

Did you reboot after?

You might have left the drivers in the injection mode..

Probably, in the monitor mode, cause just plain injection drivers would allow him to use WiFi as usual, + increased battery drain on idle state when connected to AP. Which would probably lead to another "kp49 is eating my battery life!" post ;)

Why do I not see my wireless network when I tried this? I enabled Monitor mode, then loaded Injection but when I went to scan, I dont see my network.

Also, when I went to use the wireless network , I dont see it. I had to reboot the phone for it to come back.
Why doen't my cleven work? Anybody else having the same issue?

lol....load the driver first then enable the monitor mode....
after using it then go back to configure WLAN Driver & unload the driver (monitor mode will be automatic disable) before you exit Cleven...

I have a feature request, if it's not very troublesome.

It would be useful to show network strength by the network name after scanning, thus you can select the best signal available for decrypting.

Signal power is good idea, but wouldn't the signal quality (!= power) be more useful? You can easily collect IVs from low-power, high-quality AP, or You can got problems with -50 dB AP; if, by some reasons, it's signal is of constantly bad quality.

Of course, no reason to not include both - there are plenty of space in detected APs list ;)

If we're grilling, could we also get -p0841 attack mode? Fragmentation and chop-chop seem to work poorly on N900 (around 10-30 IVS per second) and require active clients like arp replay. p0841 gets to >200 like arp replay and works quite often with no clients around.

I was thinking also to sort them by power instead on name..

Anyways, don't trust that much this measurement; the data are from only a few seconds. I would use more an extra program like the wifieye to determine the surrounding.

It depends on the work done on the driver side. There are some serious guys which have added quadratic models but in most cases the conversion is done with a linear model.

The wl12xx drivers use a linear model..
