I've worked out why the British echo123 didn't call me back - I was offline ("Do not disturb").

For some reason the Chinese echo-chinese service appears offline to me, and isn't respecting my status as the British service does which explains why China works and Britain doesn't (ah, if only life were that simple!).

Both echo123 and echo-chinese now call me back.
