nice app :) looks amazing.

however my friends list dosent load. it keeps saying "loading friends list" and stays like that forever. i only have around 200 friends on it so size shouldnt be an issue?

anyways great job on this :)

Re: [Announce] fMobi - Facebook mobile client

I went trhough all the white/black screen. Follow the procedure and fMobi 1.2.2b runs now.
However the friend list never displayed. I let it runs for more than 10 minutes. There is no activity at the network level (runnning tcpdump). I have only 65 friends!!!

The news feed displays all the hidden applications. This is very annoying given all those stupid applications generating spams. This is for me something that will simply prevent me for using fMobi.

When in the news feed screen I press more twice, fmobi does not display the rest of the news feed (the first "load more" works but not he second). I got an "undefined" text on the screen.

Re: [Announce] fMobi - Facebook mobile client

I'm currently testing this program. It looks fantastic and feels fantastic. But there's an issue I don't like at all. It's that it's always consuming between 1,3% and 2,7% of my CPU (at 500 MHz).
Just opened the application. Chat is disabled. Autorefresh set to 22 minutes.
What is it doing to be consuming such CPU? I think this is important enough to be taken into account.

Thanks!

1) I have the friend list working on 1.2.2 (never, on previous versions).
2) That also happens on Sociality. Maybe that's a Facebook public API bug (or not a bug, but intentional from them to use official apps...).

Re: [Announce] fMobi - Facebook mobile client

mine was great! no problems with the friends list.. it seems to load them up instantly, and having the alhpabetical option at the top is great!

the only problem i have is.. when im posting to a wall, and my message is long, i cant see everything im typing

it only shows me the first couple of lines iv typed.. and i cant scroll my text area where im typing...

other than that.. this app works a treat! =]

GPS turns on when places is launched, but it never turns off until the application is closed.Isn't it supposed to turn off automatically as soon as I navigate away from the places??

Do you have Qt hotfixes installed? Signal goes off in my N900 when away from places.

@jkosonen
the app's running quite fine although it closes randomly...
i also tried running it through terminal and there where some errors generated though i didn't see anything wrong while using the app. do you need to look at them?
i was supposed to ask how to approve a friend request but found the answer on the FAQ. :)
do you think Facebook will allow fMobi access on those features in your next release? do you need us to sign some form of petition. :)

Re: [Announce] fMobi - Facebook mobile client

I have noticed that my messages in the app does not update when i delete from the actual site, the deleted messages still show up in the app, is this normal? the app should remain running in the background correct? if this is so then is there a sound notification when the app is closed?

Re: [Announce] fMobi - Facebook mobile client

ok so friends list was broken, but everything else worked fine.

But then i tried reistalling fMobi, but now i get black screen, with logo and X in each corner. reinstalling and purging QT components or fmobi does not fix it. thats including the qt quick compatability app.

so i guess i broke the app by re-installing. :(

I have been getting white screen with this application, and been trying to install libqtm-11 with no success except when I activated Extra-Devel. I need advice regarding this move.

vetsin 2011-08-09 19:44

Re: [Announce] fMobi - Facebook mobile client

you're hesitating because it's in devel? well... fMobi is still devel-quality at the moment. so if you want to try it out, go ahead and install from extras-devel. :) just disable it after installing what you need.

Re: [Announce] fMobi - Facebook mobile client

i found another bug: could not login after exit with parameter 'logout on exit' active.

fMobi run well since the first time i installed it in my device. then i enable 'logout on exit' parameter in the setting section, because i want to login using other account.
but now fMobi always stuck in screen posted by santiago on #129

Here's an icon with the correct dimensions.

http://i51.tinypic.com/1siqgo.png

rename it to "fMobi.png" and move it to
Code:

/usr/share/icons/hicolor/64x64/apps

One major flaw. when typing a comment on a post i can only see two lines of what I am writing. Pretty much a show stopper for anyone who intends to write more than "lol".

friends list should be fixed with latest version.

messaging is not implemented because of fcebook. not the app

I am sorry to say that it is not the case. I am running the last version and do have the issue.
:(

If I can run any monitoring, extract log or whatever to help finding the issue....

Any thoughts on the limitation of two lines visible when commenting on a post? Would it be tricky to put a dynamically sized input field in there?

Yes, seems to work now, so if someone had problems with black screen, try now again

Well in symbian version it's using those ready textarea components which works fine. Need to add something similar to maemo version later...

Re: [Announce] fMobi - Facebook mobile client

I installed fMobi today. I first had the black screen issue, which was solved after installing libqtm-11 as indicated.
Then followed the white screen issue, which was also solved after installing qtquickcompat as indicated. After this, no more issues.
I was not able to install Qt hot fixes though (missing package).

Will start playing with it now, but the first thing I saw was that the photo albums do not show; the screen remains blank.

Very promising app! Looks very good.

@carlon,
right-click the image, choose save image, then rename to fMobi, then move to the said directory.

Hi, does fMobi transfer phone numbers from the local phonebook to the facebook account? If it does, can I disable that?
Best, Alex

Re: [Announce] fMobi - Facebook mobile client

When i first started fmobi after installation..it let me sign in to my facebook account & opened a page to let me allow fmobi to access my account but after i click allow on that page it just showed me a white page..

Now whenever i start fmobi it shows me its splashscreen for a split second & then just a plain white screen..

I have all those Qt extras installed much before i installed fmobi...

Any one here to help me with what is wrong??

Re: [Announce] fMobi - Facebook mobile client

I am trying and terying and trying...

I have gotten the "depends on this and that which wont be installed"-error, although I have all repositories enabled.

But I have also gotten this error: (when trying to install libqtm-11) after terminal asks me "Do you want to continue? (Y/n)" and i type Y, terminal writes "Abort" and does not continue!

Sick!
