Application Manager - Refresh Problem
Hi, since installing the latest update I'm having a problem with the application manager program. Everytime I try and refresh the list I get the message 'Unable to refresh list. Last refreshed list is shown'.
The last refreshed list is dated 19/04/07. Anyone else with this problem? Any ideas how to resolve. I have re-installed the update but get the same issue. |
Re: Application Manager - Refresh Problem
Anyone help with this?

Re: Application Manager - Refresh Problem
There is a problem with one of your repository, to check which one :
[you will need the osso-xterm and becomeroot or godmode package] - run xterm - be root (sudo gainroot) - refresh the repository list (apt-get update) => just read the error and correct the repository with problems |
Re: Application Manager - Refresh Problem
No need for xterm. Just check the logs of the app manager under "Tools".

Re: Application Manager - Refresh Problem
Did you check the log? (Menu, Tools, Log)

Re: Application Manager - Refresh Problem
The last info in the log is at the bottom. Feel free to clear it (there's an option for that) before you try another update, after that you'll only see relevant entries. Then go ahead and disable (no need to remove, unless it's a wrong or obsolete repository) the offending repositories from the catalogue, then retry. Sometimes a repo is only temporarily available (those 3party repos), so now and then you can re-enable one such and retry.

The 'automatic' install won't work on your 770; there is a link to their homepage with explanations. Good luck! ichmoimeyo Quote:

Re: Application Manager - Refresh Problem
Hey guys,
By anychance do you have DLink Wireless Routers? The application refresh issue I had was due to my router. I had the same issue on my Nintendo Wii. |
Re: Application Manager - Refresh Problem
I hadn't used my n800 for about a month and a half before the last update and of course Im getting this error but it still refreshes what it can... Maybe Im just lazy but until I saw it was such a simple fix I was just going to leave it. Of course last time I went one by one until I found the bad one just to find out some of these are only bad half the time and they work other times. I dunno... why bother...

Re: Application Manager - Refresh Problem
how should the contents of the log file be interpreted?
for example, osso-application-installer 4.22.1, UI version 1 W: Couldn't stat source package list http://catalogue.tableteer.nokia.com mistral/user Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/catalogue.tableteer.nokia.com_certified_dists_mist ral_user_binary-armel_Packages) - stat (2 No such file or directory) W: GPG error: http://www.oakcourt.dyndns.org ./ Release: The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY 86E33E67AD9AE76A E: Failed to fetch http://openbossa.indt.org/canola/rep...el/Packages.gz 404 Not Found W: Duplicate sources.list entry http://repository.maemo.org bora/free Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/repository.maemo.org_dists_bora_free_binary-armel_Packages) above are some examples i have encountered. how should i solve the errors? what does 'E:' or W:' mean? is 'apt-get update' same as refreshing the list of packages? TIA |
Re: Application Manager - Refresh Problem
W => Warning (which can be ignored, non-fatal)
E => Error (fatal) Your openbossa.indt.org repository is out of date. And "yes" to your apt-get question. |
