Hi,

Time to announce this unofficial quick and dirty repo, I've been playing with obs for some time now, and many pple in this forum are referring to it as h:r:h rzr repo, so I guess it's useful and I should explain ...

To make short, the repo provides over 200 packages, most of them arent very useful but may help developers or advanced users but there are a couple that worth to be installed...

The project is still open for other maintainers, but let me suggest to look at the "official" community repo (which is empty now) but it will ensure a better quality than what I've been doing with a couple of contributors, this is important too ...

Better late than never, I also want to thank all those developers and maintainers without them I or we couldnt do that much ... thank you for keeping the motivation ...

Sir, You're like a troll here who's trying to help the 250 Develorers who rarely use this site *their site would be meego.com if I'm not mistaken* and jealous the sh*t out of the rest.

Can you build rtmpdump v2.4 for harmattan? I would like to help if you can tell me what is needed to do (step by step, i have no experience regarding porting or compiling) to get this version compiled for N9.

rzr, once we are able to run our own community repositories (migration still in its early stages) would you like to move this stuff to a community repo instead than in your own server?

In the meantime, it might be better to share the effort with MAG repository.

I would also like that this community repo would use the same sources for several formats rpm and deb for mer and harmattan respectivly ...

You can simply change CRYPTO=GNUTLS to CRYPTO=OPENSSL in debian/rules since that's what we have.

Whoooooo.

So after a bit of fun figuring out how to add this repository, screwing up somewhere along the way and having to reflash and then trying to get inception installed properly without the website and all its handy instructions being up.....

I have iputils-ping working :)

So a very big thanks to all who made that possible.

I've talked with rzr on #harmattan today and he mentioned that he succeeded in getting the eSpeak package to build for Harmattan. I've just tested the package on my N9 and it indeed works!

So thanks to rzr, eSpeak on the N9 is a GO ! :D

How to install it ?

but, If you want or can backup it , let me suggest to start with sources,
start with :

osc co home:rzr:harmattan

then use apt-mirror

I will give access to my backup to all once I know expected date for meego's obs server shutdown ? any clues ?

Now that the community is finally in control of the repositories, there should be an official community repository for Harmattan, with the same structure that we have for Fremantle (Extras, Testing and Devel).

Merlin1991 is the official maintainer for repository infrastructure, but I'm pretty sure you would be granted with permissions to build this up.

Don't we already have this with Apps For MeeGo? Apps For MeeGo provides the equivalent of Extras and Testing whilst Devel exists as individual developers' OBS repos and also RzR's OBS repo. The problem is that there is plenty of useful software in RzR's and other repos which probably ought to available in Apps For MeeGo. All that needs to happen is for more stuff to be pushed into Apps For MeeGo Testing or am I missing something?

Apps For MeeGo is not really used by most developers, you can just check the amount of applications that are distributed from different places and announced in forums. Also it's not controlled by the Community Council.

So yes, we need a real community driven repository to centralize distribution of open source applications for Harmattan. But we also need a decent application manager (Meecatalog is really far from Fapman in terms of features and usability).

Hi all, I have a trouble: after installing meta-harmattan I can't apt-get update because it hangs up when downloading translations-ru from coderus.openrepos.net
Before I had n9repomirror installed to enable dev-mode. I need to edit repo list by myself?
