Re: New Device With MAEMO!! Revolution!
This isn't really new here :p. It's smoku's project. It's still exciting stuff though.

Re: New Device With MAEMO!! Revolution!
An N900 with larger screen and no HW keyboard essentially. Looks cool though.

can they make it smaller with hw keyboard?
|
Re: New Device With MAEMO!! Revolution!
means hes waiting for 250 interested people who want to buy it. hes taking pre orders now. i wonder wich virtual keyboard is installed on it. |
Re: New Device With MAEMO!! Revolution!
I'd like one that is the size of a phone, with a hardware keyboard. What are the chances?

Re: New Device With MAEMO!! Revolution!

Re: New Device With MAEMO!! Revolution!
I've seriously been thinking recently that essentially we should all just say screw you to Elop's Nokia and say hello to either some Intel based tablet that we can put MeeGo on or preferrably a Phone with ARM. Haven't seen any out there yet except the N9 though!
I'm definitely interested in this. How much? Does he want to sell the developer devices first, then do a full production run? slaapliedje Duh, guess it helps to read the FAQ, 300 bucks. If that's it, I'm in! need to juggle some cash, but I am so very there! I've been wanting a tablet with MeeGo or something not iOS or Android! |
Re: New Device With MAEMO!! Revolution!

While we're at it, could this guys whip up a big phone, that's still small enough to BE a phone, but while enough size to have a finger-typeable small HW keyboard? I'd go with the N900 formfactor any day over the tablet one (which I'm truly uninterested in) any day, but should a bigger N900 ever be put together, I'm afraid my money would throw itself into whoever-was-building-the-thing's pockets so fast I wouldn't even get a say over it. edit: Was I the only one with a feeling of being... Cheated once going through the first post? -_- |
Re: New Device With MAEMO!! Revolution!
is on the tablet flash 9.4 installed or flash 10?
|
Re: New Device With MAEMO!! Revolution!
There is no word (or even discussion) about Flash on the tablet at this time. A lot remains for the base OS, let alone things like Flash.

Re: [Cordia] New Device With MAEMO!! Revolution!
i love the idea of an ARM based 7" Meego tablet, but why the hell is it using GTK?

Re: [Cordia] New Device With MAEMO!! Revolution!
7"? pass. 4"-5" for personal carry, 10"+ for document use. 7" just becomes to much of a compromise both ways.

Re: [Cordia] New Device With MAEMO!! Revolution!
Looks cool, don't think I will personally buy them (because I need a phone with a HW keyboard and I don't need a tablet) but I would definitely recommend them to others.
|
Re: [Cordia] New Device With MAEMO!! Revolution!
I might buy it just to support the community-member, non-mega-corporation effort, and because we all know Maemo-derived Cordia is the closest thing to a fully versatile OS there could be on a tablet right now, unless MeeGo steps up their UX game.

Cordia is meego based, but I believe it can be based on any existing mainstream distributions. That should keep it reasonably safe, from the sharp-turns we experienced before as long as the hardware is open enough. |
