This is ridiculous. Supposed Best Buy actually DID return all it's leftover stock to HP - where are the units then?

well i hope to buy touchpad, veer and pre 3 for this ridiculous prices. the only problem for now is i'm from EU.

edit: if someone has some info for EU, please share it!

Maemo or Meego on it?

Have anyone studied if Maemo or Meego is able to sit on a TouchPad? :rolleyes:

Tesco might reduce their prices, so keep checking them out. Everyone else is sold out, it would seem.

You could try ordering from the Palm store, but it's listed at full price (you'd have to risk that they charge you the reduced price) and the site's essentially broken.

Well I went to PCworld and just picked up mine :D ...although I did reserve mine at 01:00 this morning

still can't find a touchpad at the discounted prices... i'll be sad I didn't get one once Android is launched on it.

What's the difference between UK and US version? (They have different product numbers, btw UK and DE version share the code) Is there a Euro wall charger included or the big fat durable UK one?

Is there difference in the software? Like, en_GB instead of en_US, or can you select the display and regional settings?

In my "unboxing" post Regional/language settings for those we have available in UK are English/Spanish/Dutch/French

I cannot really say if there is any difference between versions as I have not used any other Touchpad from different countries. However I did take pics of each screen from first boot, hopefully this may prove as some indication between different regions?

The model number for the UK models are: FB363UA#ABB

If anyone else from other regions has one on order, I too would be happy to compare boots screens and models for reference for yourselves, others and me. Also if anyone has any other questions, I would be happy to try and answer them the best I can :)

a US friend ordered one for me at B&N, and also got the message it was cancelled. But now (after complaining) he got the message they will be shipping anyway...

I don't need a tablet, it's just that it was so cheap.. so I'll wait till the dust settles, and place bets on ebay at 100£. If too many people think this device is worth more than that, well, too bad, but I don't.

I have booted mine today and I can tell you if these were sold for the price printed or adverstised initially then HP would have gone broke solving customer games.

There are nor apps, games or utilities preloaded or through HP shop.
I tried opening one site that read regularly but it will not open, it returns unknown error after supply logon credentials.

After supplying login credentials at TMO the page stayed at redirecting but didn't logon.

I am thinking why did HP even bother about getting into this when they were not ready at all. clearly some splashed the money but was not expecting anything in return.

Browser is slow to start.

What I like s the UI, it is great. it can open multiple apps, if there were, and you can switch between them easily, closing an app is as easy as flpping it up. Pinch and zoom is ok.

So folks, don't go hopping on crazy ebay overpriced deals... there are more out there and HP will be selling them.
