Please try to solve another 1 of my N900 mysteries.
 

Used the search and cant seem to find any answers to this.

Its actually becoming more frequent now and has happened 4 times today:

This is the error i get:

Warning: An unexpected reboot occured. Your custom kernel settings were not loaded.

Everytime this comes up it is after the phone reboots itself.

Any ideas?

If you have kernel power installed you have probably set the over clock limits to high for your processor.

The boot sequence

The kernel settings are only loaded if you had a normal reboot or shutdown but not after a crash. In that case the file /etc/kernel-power/.notloaded is created and a notification will be shown after booting. The settings will be loaded at the next boot again unless it crashes again.

Either don't set the limits too hi on overclocking, this is just a trial and error process as each chip will take different limits. Usually upto 800Mhz is ok on most. Or uninstall kernel power and just boot original kernel.

Hi there,

the thing is i dont remember overclocking it or even if i have i didnt realise and was following a guide.. bit silly of me really.
Would i uninstall kernel power form the app manager and would the original kernel be there by default then? Nothing else would needed to be done, no?

Hi there, thank you. just to confirm we are talking about the linux kernel for power user here right?

Thats correct, in your menu there should be an icon thats says Deinstall Kernel. If you click on that icon and reboot the original Kernel will be loaded but you will not be able to overclock any more.

Seems to me your problem is that something isn't stable. If you haven't overclocked it, you should check /proc/bootreason to get a clue what might be causing your crash.
Depending on what you find, you may need to reflash, uninstall some app, or mess with the overclocking settings: Instead of using it to get higher frequency, you may need to up the voltage settings on one or more frequencies for better stability.
