Respositiory Update Problem

Anyone having trouble with updating and downloading new repo updates? For some reason everytime I download and install an update I get a message saying "Unable to update (name of program)." Though it states this, I can install most updates, but one particular one I am having toruble with is ncurses-bin, it keeps on reappearing.

EDIT: I also cant seem to refresh the list.

I had the same problem regarding the list refreshing. have a look at the log to find out what the problem is then you should be able to resolve.

Re: Respositiory Update Problem

Check the log, and you can disable (or delete) any trouble repositories. It will refresh fine now.

If you still want to use those (troubled) repositories, maybe you need to check whether you typed everything in correctly, or that the repositories actually do exist for N800.

Yeah, same here. One of the repositories I have listed seems to be "broken".

It'd be great, given the Application Manager is for "normal" users, if this kind of thing was reported in a helpful way with an option to disable the offending repositories.

Yes, I used the log before, but it states a problem for a great deal of my repos. This did not happen before the update, I think I may have to input all the repos again.

Re: Respositiory Update Problem - nCurses!

ncurses-bin shows up in Application Manager > Check for updates. But when I try to update, well it's unsuccessful. Good idea to check the log. I find this:

dpkg: serious warning: files list file for package `ncurses-bin' missing, assuming package has no files currently installed.

Re: Respositiory Update Problem

Since I don't seem able to update ncurses-bin I tried to uninstall it. I get:
dpkg: error processing ncurses-bin [--remove]
Package is in a very bad inconsistent state - you should reinstall it before attempting a removal.
Errors were encountered while processing: ncurses-bin
E: sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

Is there any way out of this mess?

I have the same problem with ncurses-bin. Any solution?

Re: Respositiory Update Problem

Well after some more searching I found this

dpkg --force-all -r ncurses

Now that I finally got rid of it, do I dare put it back? Do I even need to?

Re: Respositiory Update Problem

I backed up , reformatted with the o7 update again, then restored. My repositories seem better now.
