Please I have the same problem, I have to change my password in my facebook, but when I log on to my facebook on my N900, it says that invalid email/password combination, failed to log in. pls help,
I put codes in xterminal
apt-get install libcurl3 and its updated.
what are possible thing will I do to fix my problem.

I have the same problem here in 2015.
Few days ago Fb chat just disconnected (auth failed), and are not working since then.
I cannot re-add the account, I suspect there is another API change in Fb's side.
Any hope to get this fixed?

Strange.
I have rebooted my device, tried to auth through mobile data, wifi, re-add the account, no effect.
Skype, Gtalk works well.

Don't use it myself, but until it is fixed you could try the web app? https://www.messenger.com/
I am still using the web app of Telegram because of the lack of a working port.

For the telegram app I am using the Iceweasel browser in Easy Debian. Takes a very long time to start but once it is started it is working fine.
