Re: N9/N950 Email/Mail for Exchange - Get help & give feedback here
The email thing is unfortunately a deal breaker for me....lucky I got it for free. I cant believe NOKIA harmattan cant make a phone that doesnt connect to work email. My e71, iphone, e51 all connect flawlessly and this advanced and expensive N9 is useless to me now. I definitely can not recommend it for purchase.

Of course this is what causes your issue and unfortunately nothing can be done from our side with your problem. Quote:

do you think that Apple asks people for logs? They dont. Because their devices just work with the basic elements of the smartphone. I expect my email to work out of the box. I dont expect to waste my time, getting on the PC, uploading some scripts so that I can produce logs. Clearly the quality testing on this device is sorely lacking. If I was in this business, I would give the device to 50 individuals in respective markets to use the device for 3 weeks and send me their feedback about problems they experience. Then I would sit down and fix the bugs before releasing the phone to the masses. IT IS CLEAR TO ME THAT HARMATTAN IS AN AMATEUR PROJECT. Its simple as this Sergey. Do you want to play in a third division soccer league or in the premier league. If you want to play in the third division, than keep up the shoddy Mfe client on N9. If you want to be in the Premier league, you will not have anyone complain about multiple issues that people are having with their Mfe. I am done with NOKIA. N900 and N9 cant connect to my email client. This is embarrasing. iphone connects, E71 connects, E51 connects. So I suggest, you take PR1.2, give it to me and 49 other people all over the work to use of the next 4 weeks and then collect their experiences. You may move up from the Third division to second division. Premier league requires a top notch talent. Not sure you guys got it. |

I remember when I helped people troubleshooting their PC, people always expect me to know their problems without giving any information. They always told me, "It shows error again!" but never bothers to tell me what is the error. They spent entire day to solve the problems. Once they told me the error messages, it took 5 min to solve it. Get it? |

I have a problem with one of my two Exchange accounts.
One is working OK, but the other refuses to work at all. It just keeps saying "Internal server error". The only difference which exists between two servers is that the second have self-signed certificate. Could that be a problem and what could be done in that case? Thanks in advance! Update: It seems this is is the same problem with certificate already described many times in this thread. Are there any news about solution? |
Re: N9/N950 Email/Mail for Exchange - Get help & give feedback here
Hi All,
Yesterday evening I made an important observation that I would like to share. This will cross link with the idle consumption problem too. I noticed that syncing Mail, Contacts and Calendar all 3 makes the device run hot and idle consumption shoots to 40. I never used exchange from past one week and always wondered why all of you talk about idle consumption, until I set up an exchange account 3days back. It heavily drained battery and pushed up consumption. All I did was to delete constant sync (which is more or less makes the concept of sync useless) and took off mail from the sync options. I used another account to setup mail. I rebooted and have now spent 24hrs with idle consumption coming down to mere 6 even though I continue to use all my social networking , reading blogs and mails. Something seriously is at fault. Thats it from me. Ignore my amateurish language because I am a biologist and not a coder. |
Re: N9/N950 Email/Mail for Exchange - Get help & give feedback here
When the SMTP session ends with an error such as the aforementioned:
[1361] Dec 01 11:39:08 [Debug] SMTP : Closed connection: "550 5.7.1 Rejected 212.152.85.98 listed as spam source at http://www.spamhaus.org Would it be possible to show the exact text of the error message to the user and not just a generic "could not connect to server" message? Or is there a setting somewhere which can enable this function? |
