However, Maemo has had issues with Mfe for a long time now, and they have not been able to take care of it for years. Hence my description of a C team at NOKIA

Had to delete accounts, and my contacts got all out of whack, got deleted as well. Then, had to reestablish accounts, resync contacts, and reedit contacts that were previously edited...refavorite, etc...took a couple hours to get back to the way it was, too many contacts.

Email works again. But the bs I went through will not be forgotten...N900 had a few glitches as well, but yes, I wish the Nokia team had finished some of these issues instead of hoping we would just work through the glitches...NOT IDEAL. I was kicking myself today for giving my heavily modded N900 to my cousin to use...now that email is working again, I am ok, but I am hoping this doesn't occur again...might have to go back to nuevasync if Nokia's exchange support is this patchy.

I have 3 account of different domain names, one for work and 2 for personal, they all actually using gmail's service. After I add all the 3 accounts, they all show up as "Gmail" in the Mail app, no way to know which one is which account until I click into it.

Is there a way I can rename them rather than "Gmail?

If I set them up as Other Mail, I will lose the option of Gtalk for that account (which I use one work, one personal, not at the same time though)

Can you edit the name in the "accounts" app? I know you can do that for regular email accounts.

You can't do that if it's setup as Gmail account, I wish I could edit it like "Other Mail" account.

How many years did it take the iOS to get those "regular" functions like other smart phones already have for years?

The Android still doesn't allow setting proxy without rooting it, for unknown reason, which make it useless in campus and work wifi which requires security thru proxy, and it doesn't allow connecting to AdHoc wifi, again unless rooting it, so I have to root my Asus Transformer to connect to the Wifi Hospot of N900.

There are a lot of weird reasons why this phone doesn't do this and that phone does. Every phone has weakness and just pick which ever suit you most.

Just got my N9 to replace the N900, it has everything I need other than no Flash on web, that's kinda inconvenient as a lot of blog sites still have links to regular youtube video.

Other than that so far I'm quite happy with it, the extra plugin for MSN, Yahoo and others is much more stable than the N900 and one single click to go all online or offline for all IM is a new good touch.

Had to reset my email again this morning...I think it has to do with one of my accounts...I have thousands in the inbox, when on the settings I put '100 msges'... I have now only put my exchange account on the phone. When I deleted my exchange, all my contacts went away again...if this happens again, is there a way to keep my contacts, so I don't have to resync and add favorites again?

Don't slag him off - he will run to the administrators and have you disciplined. It appears he can dish it out but not take it.

I must say that I'm quite happy now, the IMAP push seems to be working perfectly now and even the phone idle consumption looks to be smaller than with 10min sync interval.

Thanks for the logs and especially for a description :) This logs looks familiar to me. I need a bit more investigation, perhaps it is already fixed.

If it occurs again can you provide a syslog for this issue?

Unfortunately no, if you are deleting the account contacts will be deleted too.

Unless I misunderstand your question, you can change name of Gmail accounts in under "Google Mail" in your Accounts, there you have a field you can change name...

This is driving me crazy. Is it expected to be solved in the near future?

Thanks.
