N950 camera problem
Hello
I am having a problem with the camera after the last update. It doesn't work any more. I get a message "the camera is not responding , try again or restart the device if problem continues" Does anyone has the same problem ? Any help? Thanks |

Re: N950 camera problem
Good news :)
I have "the camera is not responding" too (2days ago) , so looks like sofware problem rather than hardware. But may be its not only firmware OTA update, but some application. Then I install some prog from ovistore (e.g. Talking Cat) its says "must remove conflicting packet" ... So I think its remove something for camera work. Did you see something like this? Code:
# camera-ui |
Re: N950 camera problem
Or may be any application installed via Ovi store after the last OTA update..
P.S. and maybe specifically apps using audio engine (gstreamer etc.) |
Re: N950 camera problem
New messages after install --reinstall few packages:
Code:
# camera-ui |

Re: N950 camera problem
Camera FIX N9/N950
Activation of Developer mode to Access Terminal Go to Settings -> Security -> Developer mode and set it on (it will give a warning to you and notice that it will reboot after setting developer mode on) just click yes and yes to the issued warnings. After reboot you'll have Terminal in the apps-menu screen, click it Now you should have a terminal in front of you ~$ and a square pointing at awaiting input from you and your virtual keyboard popped open Enter the following piece of code on Terminal devel-su - It will prompt for password - enter rootme It will show you the following lines: BusyBox v1.19.0.git (MeeGo 3:1.19-8+0m6) built-in shell (ash) Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands. mesg: Operation not permitted RM696-34-1_PR_001:~# Now enter reboot -u And you're done Now you can go and deselect the developer-mode after these steps and the final reboot, and voila your Nokia N950's camera is alive again! |
