Why did they change the location of the flash on the 800. Is it noticeable when taking a photo? I think it isn't.

Compal was thanked in the presentation. So I think the 800 isn't made by Nokia, but by ODM Compal.

Nokia also made a point that the speakers holes are drilled in the 800. In the N9 they are also, since the N9 is carved from a bigger peace of plastic. The 800 isn't, it is "injection molded", just like all the other mobile phones today. So either the production method for the N9 also had serious problems, or compal just couldn't use a similar production method.

Where did you read that Lumia 800's body is injection moulded? I would like to read more about this.

Re: Nokia Lumina 710 & 800

So why exactly would one go for the 800 or 710 over the Samsung or HTC offerings?
http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/28/s...er-6th-releas/

That story links to an older story with more detail on the two Samsung's IIRC.
Then there's the HTC Titan and Radar....

And weird thing I've just read, is they're not even bring them to the US (Canada too?) till 2012.
Are they waiting till they have something more top-end to release with them?

Michael-Dallas who was the first one to leak the names of lankku and dali plus the specs actually just yesterday said on wpcentral that USA will have different phones and something very similar specced than the ace we have seen (while we know the "leaked" looks of it isn't real).

North American Nokia boss has also said that they will have tailor made phones for USA.

Most TMO is missing the fact that there are people who in 10+ year history had only Nokia phones. They are not looking for developer device, don't care about userland, specs. All their phones were Nokia and will be. Samsung? HTC? This is what M$ wants in this deal. Brand affiliation is strong due to reliable phones produced so far. That is huge percentage of the market, even if smartphone fanboys cry and argue about specs

It was mentioned in the keynote, either by elop or shields.
