It works.. Thanks a Lot :d

Re: APT-GET UPDATE Error
same is happening for me, i just tried disabling the OVI repository and now the phone says it's checking for updates, but just seems to be hanging/frozen.
The problem started when i tried downloading the facebook widget that's already half pre-installed on the phone.. the same thing happens, it just hangs when it says it's installing. Is there something different I should be doing? |

What other repositories do connect to? Hildon Application Manager (default) doesn't really tell you what it's doing so it can appear to 'hang' when it's not. It is possible that the parts of the facebook widget that need to be downloaded are in OVI - I can't remember; there's certainly parts in the Nokia SSU catalogue and Nokia Applications catalogue. |
Re: APT-GET UPDATE Error
All the repositories that are currently connected are:
Nokia Applications Nokia System Software Updates Ovi (currently disabled) Maemo.org Maemo Extras Maemo Extras-testing Maemo Extras-Devel My-Maemo.com In x-term, i just got it to complete the process for apt-get update, and i got a message telling me that it can't find all of the files or that some files may be old and have been replaced by newer ones? |
Re: APT-GET UPDATE Error
Solved. For some reason it won't update with the broadband router i'm using, but on my mobile internet (sim) it works fine.

when it try to update the catalog quickly press cancel...exit HAM then open x-term...update your catalog using x-term...once updated disable the OVI repo again using HAM... that should fixed your problem.. |
