No problems with the 8830 staying up in modem mode for an extended time. I use #777 phone# as username and vzw. I'm on the same version of software as you are for both devices.

50-2 on the tablet and 4.2.2.176 on the 8830.

I had the authentication error until I called verizon and had them add the tethering fee, but after that, no problem.

Maybe someone else will have an idea.

It's too bad if you can't get it going since it seems like a great combination.

the odd thing is that under phone it doesn't show profiles like the N95 does... but it seems to work regardless.

I think i have it figured out........
i am posting this now from my n810, i have been able to stay connected for more than 5 minutes !!!! :):D

Ok....
It works now...
I paired my 8830 to the Nokia again, then went into connections and deleted the old connection I was using with the 8830, then created a new one, it asked what country I was in and what carrier, I completed the wizard with no changes to what was there, it works now.
Go figure....
Now....
Next issue....
I am trying to transfer my address book from by 8830 to the 810, it transfers it.. but every time I try to load it into contacts is says import failed.
Now I know this works because my boss did his with the same 8830 and 810.
Any suggestions?
I am going to start a new thread on this also.

These settings worked for me also. (same firmware versions on blackberry and n800)
