Less RAM after install Kernel Power v48 and v48

Why after installing power kernel conky shows only ~230Mb ram before it was 240 MB.I do not get it.. any help?
I've got this "problem" with 2xN900 i suppose it's a common problem...

More modules should use more RAM i guess. AS you didn't describe if you just upgraded from omap-kernel to kernel-power, or kernel-power v.. to kernel-power v48, ...

I think DSP dedicated RAM amount was increased to support HD rec/playback, hence less ram shown on conky.

hmmm why dsp needs to permanently allocate some RAM? can't it just use (dynamically) when it needs it?

are you sure?

Because it needs to, better ask TI. And also video memory needed to display overlay of size 1280x720 is much more that needed for 848x480. In short go and see changelog of kernel-power 48 and kernel-power 49 on dedicated thread instead of opening new thread like you've just discovered sliced bread.
