I've had a problem with not being able to open any applications after flashing. I don't know if I've had the other issues too since I haven't tested them but you should try fixing hildon.menu, it always works for me:

cp /etc/xdg/menus/hildon.menu /home/user/.config/menus/hildon.menu
(ctrl+shift+x to open xterm)
