hi there,

i have the same problem like lablueboy. any download via n9qtweak is working for me. im always getting a "no connection answer" if i try to download via wlan and if im going with 3g to install for example powerpack, it goes:

/opt/N9QTweak/Tweaks/downloader5.sh: line 16: + : syntax error: operand expected (error tokenis "+ ")
Downloading bytes (0.00 Mb)

cp: can't stat 'PowerPack.zip': No such file or directory

it goes for every file, which needs connection in n9qtweak. starts with updating n9qtweak itself and ends with downloading the pdf instruction: every time the same answer.

is there any solution found on this topic? any help would be great!

As Schturman wrote (if I remember well, because I haven't encountered that problem), he adviced to try to set the WLAN connection manually:
go to (I hope the names are right, because I don't have the phone with English UI)

Settings -> Internet nonnection -> Change networks -> Choose your network -> Advanced settings, then toggle the ticks on Retrieve IP address automatically and Retrieve DNS address automatically, then set manually the IP, submask, default gateway, primary and secondary DNS, and maybe, in a first time, set a statical IP address.

Then try again to do what you tried before in N9QTweak and test if it works.

I thought about This... We can call to this tweak "System packages mod". I can move tweak HH to KK, and we can use HH for power pack and busybox-power. Or simply move pp to KK, like you said..
What more convenient ?

I think that a letter for a "System packages mod" that includes all that you written will be great (busybox-power, PowerPack and in future maybe other, instead to stay in the Tweak KK) ;) , but I don't know if it's better to reuse an existent letter or other one.

The Tweak B-5 too still isn't in the right place :D

Reuse letter is not a problem (i think). I not saw that tweak HH (Fix MMS issue on T-Mobile (USA users)) useful too much. I can place it in KK and use HH for this ;) And B-5 to Y..

Yes, there is no longer a need for HH. T-Mobile USA fixed it on their end awhile ago.

Yesterday I installed QT 9.7.7 and did the uninstall procedure FasterN9, install and reinstall PP FasterN9. With this new update have to redo something?

Yesterday, when I tried to use the Tweak H-4 there was a problem: it downloaded correctly the python packages, but when it tried to install them there was an error: [...]origin cannot be determined[...]
Also Wazapp has that python dependencies, and I wanted to do a try: I install Wazapp, that informed me that it would have to download packages, then I accepted and it surely found many of the packages required in the /var/cache/apt/archives, dowloaded before by the Tweak H-4, and then downloaded the others ones. Then it continued its installation correctly, installing the required packages (also the ones of the Tweak H-4) with success.
Only now the Tweak H-4 worked, because its dependencies were met.

Another problem, but maybe wasn't, was with the Tweak-O: I wrote 2 3 and the message was (about the creation of entries in the N9QTWeak log) [...]unterminated quoted string[...]

1. Yes, tweak H-4 need install python and it use simple command: Why it not installed for you, I don't have any clue... Maybe broken internet connection at this moment or switching wifi/3G or nokia repo.. don't know...
I don't have any problem with installation...

2. Tweak O - just not have option to choose a few numbers ;) If tweak have this option, you will see message "Choose a few numbers separated by one space:"
I can add this to tweak O in the next version, but I'm not see a reason to do this :D

The downloaded packages weren't broken, in fact Wazapp installation used that packages (plus other ones, downloaded for its dependencies) correctly without errors.

The Tweak O has 3 options, the 2 and 3 are only icons adder, and, for me, was automatical to do that commands together, like other tweaks that add icons :D

Reflashed, because juiceme and CODeRUS told me that the phone has a sort of encripted entries, token aegis crypto keys service (for the token problem when from the chroot I gave the ariadne sh comman) and when the signature check failed (in my case for the restok.conf) the only way is to refhash, just because there are the above (unreachable) system things.

Accordingly, for the above, is the same thing for the Harmattan clone idea :mad:

Maybe only one of them was broken and when you tried to install wazapp it complete to download broken package and installed them.. Really don't know why it happens to you ;)

Did you tryed origin fixer in the new version ? That I did more safer ? :D

Not yet (but in the unlucky case I will not flash after 12H of, in vain, tests, but almost immediately :D), because I'm going to install other incepted apps, but after then I will try it.

However, FasterN9 conflicts with PowerPack?
And if not, it's better to user stable or unstable FasterN9?
And the transition mod isnt' included, in a sense, in FasterN9?
It conflict with PowerPack and/or FasterN9?

PS: Obviously, for convenience, I will install the PowerPack app as the first.

You can apply origin fixer and after this install incepted packages without any problem. It just install them with com.nokia.maemo (like it should be in normal mode) instead com.nokia.maemo/local.

No, faster n9 is ok with PP
I had transition mode + fasterN9. And when I installed PP after 2-3 days I noticed about luggs and I reinstalled fasterN9. Now after reflash I did it directly: Tweak RR (restored all modified files including transition mode) -> fasterN9. After one day I installed PP and immediately (before reboot) I reinstalled fasterN9. Phone is smooth and work very good :)
I use unstable fastern9 1.1.5

You are tru, I forgot that origin-fixer edits the refhashlist and restok.conf (where are the entries of /local privileges) :D

Ok perfect, but do you think that with PowerPack installation as first, and the transition+faster installed after it, they can replace many of its files (powering files :D)?

don't you know anything yet about the new PowerPack version that include the fix (I read about a problem that will be fixed in a future version of it)?

Probably yes, I think it will override some files. Like I said before I not going to check all files in all packages and check which from them use N9QT too.. You can do it by youself :D:p

Hi i cant update to version 9.7.8 from version 8.5 after a while when it's installing i get installation aborted i can choose to proceed or cancel it. When i proceed i get the same error after while, so it will not install.
I tried many times, is this a known issue or did i missed something?

yes, you are missed something :) just uninstall old version and instal new one. You not need to reapply your tweaks.

Small update for current version (9.7.8) :D
* Tweak O - Added possibility to choose a few number separated by one space.
* Tweak FF - updated. Added option to restore original N9QT icon & splash screen. In FF-2 added option to restore original splash screen.
* Postinst & preinst scripts - updated. Now it will save 2 lines from N9QT desktop file. If you will change icon line or splash screen from FF-2, it will be saved when you reinstall/upgrade N9QT app.

To update, just run tweak UU ;)

Today I tried again and the Repo was readable. I downloaded manually all needed deb files and installed OpenVPN successfully.

Now I get a step further, am really close to finish: VPN connects, however the tun device cannot be created:
The message "Cannot ioctl TUNSETIFF tun: Operation not permitted (errno=1)" points to not being root. However I am root as 'whoami' tells me.

Anybody has a clue how to solve this?

what's wrong? Do i have an outdated terminal?meego? Etc? This is pr 1.3 updated all components, and installed utilities in devel mode before installing qtweak. Any suggestions? Getting the same errors with whatever internet i use 3g/wifi... :(

I don't understand why you do so strange things. After reflash you need only install the latest version and all should work. You don't need reupdate or reinstall or something. Just install latest version from the first post.
Why download-script can't work on your internet connection, i don't know..

Check which repos you have, if you have rzr repo installed, remove it and try apt-get update.
Also if you need help, you need provide output from what you do, that we can see what you do...
