Thanks for the incredibly detailed instructions. The whole procedure took me less than 10 minutes.

As far as I understand it was copying the dependencies to make sure nothing broke, then changing the relevant entries to 005 instead of 001, and changing the permissions on the file.

However, It still gave me the same error, that it couldn't unlock the package.

I am sure it was a mistake on my end, cause by a bit of rush, that kept me from making my usual checks (before I pasted, making sure I pasted it correctly, I believe I pasted it incorrectly, and messed with a few lines and spaces I should not have)

However. I will re-attempt it after a couple days, when my head is a bit more clear, and after I re-install N9Qtweak in order to have clean files again (In my haste I also forgot to keep clean backups of those, whoops. A reinstall should give me new ones)

Now, a question, if I provide you with the dependency list, couldn't you also add 005 to the list? as in another option to unlock 001 or 005?

I am fairly certain the dependencies are the same, 005 is just the asian region unlocked variant. I have literally seen 0 difference between that, and 001.

Maybe you can check the differences?

Nonetheless, thank you for the extremely detailed and excellent guide. Hopefully it will help some more people.

Sorry for the delay in replying. I tried 1. the default password, 2. the password I entered when activating the LockApp feature via N9 QTweak, and 3. my root password. None worked. However, I finally fixed the issue by going back into N9 QTweak and setting a new default password. Now I can't say whether there was really a problem or whether it mistyped my password during the install (I don't think so, but we never know).

By the way, when setting the password, the app asks to check it by retyping it before it to be applied, but actually it is possible to only press Enter without retyping it, which may let some scope to setting wrong passwords.

1. When you enter into the first option, it will ask you "Enter NEW password: " - here you need to write this pass..
2. After this you will see: "Your password should look like:"
3. After this you will see: "Check if you wrote correctly, press Enter:" - here you need to press ENTER
4. After this you will see: "Written password:" - and you will see your written pass.
5. After this you will see: "Choose C for change or Enter for Apply: " - that mean, if you want you can change you pass again by clicking "C" or just press ENTER for exit from tweak, your pass is already saved...

If you don't remember your pass, you can change this how times you want... If you don't insert password and just press enter in the first step, it will leave the default pass 12345..

After setting up your pass, apply app that you want to lock and when you will start this app, it will ask you about pass...

I just want to express my gratitude to Schturman, once again, for his commitment and enthusiam to the community.

By its very nature, N9 Quick Tweaks is able to bridge the knowledge gap between developers and normal N9 users. Those people that are willing to take time and carefully follow Schturman's instructions have the ability to make really great tweaks to their N9.

N9 Quick Tweaks represents some of the best creativity of the open source developer community. Schturman offers the 'window' of opportunity for humble users, like me, to take advantage of open souce and maximise the potential of the N9.

I know that Schturman is a modest man. I am sure this is only one of his qualities. He deserves much praise, congratulations and encouragement for his efforts.

Just so that you know, I PM'ed Schturman some months ago about preparing for PR1.3. He gave reassurance then. Now, look how quickly he released a PR1.3 version of N9 Quick Tweaks.

I also asked him why he did not have a donate option. This is how modest he is! I am very happy to see that people donate for his work.

Developers, modders, hackers do what they do because of personal enjoyment, first. The rest of us, who enjoy and benefit from their creativity can express our thanks; first by expressing it and second by donating.

Theres one MOD missing from this app, I just had to install N9Tweak for this one MOD - to change screen auto-lock/sleep feature! I hate how it locks itself!

I deleted the first one after the PR update fearing any loop problems.. And now I would love to get the larger conversation font tweak etc..

I installed v8.1 with PR1.3 and tried tweak X (Enlarge/Restore conversation font size).
Now when I select the message app, it opens and all the messages are shown.

But as soon as I select a message/conversation, the app is closed.
Even if I use the default sizes, the app is closed.
(I constantly set the text to "light")

Just do it again, but write all parameters correctly. You can see the examples like (def. LIGHT) or (def. light), that mean you need write exactly like in this example or with
BIG letters or with small letters...
If you want all "light", you can just press enter in this lines without writing anything, it will insert the default string...

Do you know how to easily uninstall unrestricted-ui and restore the default system-ui? I'd like to try this exciting new T feature, and therefore uninstalled all MT-toggles I had, plus MT-toggle platform, but I don't find the patched system-ui in Applications.

[Edit] I tried without uninstalling it, and it conflicts with tweak T, as expected. An "apt-get remove unrestricted-system-ui" would wipe out billions of other packages, so I answered a big "NO" to the confirmation prompt. :D And "apt-get install -f" did not restore the default system-ui neither (it was the fix when system-ui was not updated yet for PR 1.3).

just one question regarding the toggles; is there some way to choose which toggles we can have visible? I realized I wouldn't need to have all of them, can I remove some of them?

You just need to reinstall original system-ui..
Probably you will get error from inception, that you can't install this. If yes do this:
This will download the original system-ui to:
Transfer this file (system-ui_1.3.2-1+0m8_armel.deb) where you want and install via inception:

For now = no, you can't remove toggles... When app will be completely ready = yes.

Thank you very much, it worked (and I actually had the error you expected).

Will this tweak/application include Hacky Brightness and PresenceX in the future? I thought they were already included owing to the screenshot, but I don't see them, and I don't know how to install them without unrestricted-system-ui (I'm affraid to try with the regular system-ui before having confirmation it's possible :D).

[Edit] PresenseX just appeared after some time. My questions stands only for HackyBrightness then, in case Coderus is around there. :)

I look forward to seeing CodeRUS app in the OVI store. Really want to Tweak T but the only toggle i find necessay is the flashlight toggle. It would better than having to launch the flashlight app.

I'm probably being an idiot but i installed this but when i start it and it asks for password i can't type anything in - tried both keyboards but typing doesn't come up. If i press enter the app exits.

Any ideas?

the app will exit if you type the wrong password. default password is rootme. when typing the password it doesnt display anything. Hope this helps.

Schturman, I've been sitting back for months and awaiting these tweaks to get more 'baked' because I don't like reflashing my phone often. I've taken the Quicktweak plunge now that you've included 'unrestricted' and 'toggles' because the other posts instructions are very hard to follow. Everything is working great!

I really appreciate what you have done with this app, and even more - that you have DOCUMENTED exactly how to use it and kept it updated. This is awesome and a shining example of how to contribute to everyone in the community, not just the advanced users. I will donate. Big thanks.

I'm tired and don't have a time to start again with unrestricted-ui & MT-toggle platform & and toggle from MAG, from Coderus... Too much complicated now.. This threads not organized good and I need to much time to find the correct files etc.. I'm very happy with new system-ui-extensions from Coderus, when it will done, we will get option for editing this toggles and remove what we don't need..

Another question , Could it be that some tweaks can not be removed? Because the thing is I did the tweak T, and never was able to restore to default.
