I used to have the theme song to Airwolf http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airwolf as my indoor ringtone
a dial-up modem handshaking as my loud ringtone
the famous mosquito (teen)ringtone at the top of my hearing range for courtesy since most people thought it was just their ears experiencing Tinnitus http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tinitis
I recorded myself sending the @ sign for email and SMS over shortwave amateur radio to an automated internet receiver station in Europe to give it that slightly faded over the air sound.
What I would really like to find is the old 1990 Motorola bag phone purrr ringtone like from The Big Lebowski, I might just stick that movie on Openshot and see about ripping the ringtone sample direct from the movie.
To satisfy my retro desires I made due with a classic Nokia ringing tone I ripped from youtube.
For a fun gift to friends I have put together audio clips form old HalfLife I audio.
