Nokia did you forget to take your ADD meds again?
They just bought another OS today, that's right another OS.
http://news.cnet.com/8301-1035_3-573...ncol;cnetRiver I think we need to start a kitty for psychiatric services for Nokia's management. They obviously have no idea what direction they are going in. As much as I hate to say it they really should have just went with android, it could have been one single platform for all their phones. In the US we have seen $50 unsubsidized android phones, so it could have easily spanned from flagship to feature phone. Then maybe their so called pet project (maemo/meego) development could have continued. |

Looks like some of the basic Java/Symbianism OS's that you would see on the Chinese Clone phones
http://www.smarterphone.com/products.php Why would buy this, is it all apart of plan for global domination? ;) |
Re: Nokia did you forget to take your ADD meds again?
How many OSes can a manufacturer have??
Not enough, clearly! Happy Friday everyone :) |
Re: Nokia did you forget to take your ADD meds again?
I got a feeling Nokia bought it for some element on it that it adds to S40 or meltemi.
Would make no sense to use it as it is.... i hope. Quote:

Re: Nokia did you forget to take your ADD meds again?
I thinik I can see Nokias plan to gain their their place in the mobile OS world.
Step 1: Ditch the OSes you have been working for years and spent billions on Step 2: Pick up random OSes noone likes or knows (WPhail and random norwigian OS) Step 3: ???? Step 4: Profit Sounds like a good plan |
Re: Nokia did you forget to take your ADD meds again?
It's not uncommon for companies to buy crap to prevent competition. They probably won't do anything with it and bought it to kill it for some reason.

Re: Nokia did you forget to take your ADD meds again?
Apparently, their management decided that Nokia's stock are still too high rated. It need fixing immediately.

Re: Nokia did you forget to take your ADD meds again?
Who knows, in a year or so maybe nokia will present us phones and tablets for 50 bucks a piece. Meaning everybody will buy at least 10 of them, for each room in your home, one for you car, one to give away to a homeless person at the next occasion and one to trash just for fun.

Re: Nokia did you forget to take your ADD meds again?

Symbian was owned jointly by multiple big manufacturers. Nokia pretty much became Symbian, even as they owned "just" 49% of it on it's peak. Windows Phone is also more in to the iPhone model so we wont see hundreds of random companies making WP, like it is on Android. |

Nokia will be the only one doing it in the end. The other manufacturers are already committing less and less resources to wp7 because they are seeing Nokia getting too close to MSFT. And we all now how msft likes to screw there partners. |
