Great work! I know that android battery icon sets are the wrong way round - but just in case you havent seen some of the icon sets have a look at this page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1042490

I especially think the minimal battery set would look great with the current meego ui.

These are excellent! Could you also make a set without the coloured bar behind the text (just the text on it's own in the battery border - would make it really easy to read)?

Love them :) Please do. I will see if I can do like a theme alteration sort of thing with it as well.

Also, to anyone else who has suggestions or wants to help in anyway, keep it coming. Happy to listen to people's ideas. That's what TMO is all about, a community working together to get the most from their devices

The image for the battery icons in the status bar can be found in

/usr/share/themes/blanco/meegotouch/icons/

png starts with icon-l-energy-management-xxx and icon-m-energy-management-xxx (or some others) should be those we see in the status bar.

I think those original icons should be saved or backup in somewhere just in case these icons can be restored when removing the deb (even though mostly like not if I get auto update battery percentage in status bar :))

I have a way, at the moment it works, but not automatically. Some reason the loop isn't called continously :/ Am currently testing afew different methods :)

Thats actually the ones displayed when say device says "entering PSM or charging". Status icons are icon-s-status-batteryx.png :)

And yes, I've already taken that into account. Saved the statusbar config file, and the icons I alter. On removal, they are placed back :)

No, but if my current idea works, I won't need it :) Keep making subtle errors on my N950 and I get into reboot loop, plus I am concentrating on Uni, so it may be a while, but it will be coming, hopefully very soon

Just a quick update. Got an implementation of the app atm, but seems like there's an issue with percentage, as device is 96%, but icon displays 91% :/

Charging indicator is working fine as far as I can tell. Will use it as is for today, see if any bugs come up, then will work on the sync between icon and %.

No worries I'm in no hurry and I think this is what the community is all about -> developing, testing and supporting/helping each other. So I'm sticking with your app, it's even getting better now with people chipping in with solutions for the graphic side :D

your icon is updating late..
why not add "current_charge_ percent + 3"
i.e "91%+3=94% which is close to current value 96%

and if the app_charge/actual_charge ratio changes (lets say app shows 91% but actual value 93% ) still you will be close to actual value :)

It's not that. Its the updating of the icon. I found that it only updates on 10s, ie. 1,11,21,31, etc.

The text file gets updated, but seems it is only update in statusbar incrementally.

I think I will go back to my last implementation, needing to tap to load, and sort out the permission issues, and then auto-update

Hey guys, just added a poll to the thread. Have had an idea, now I don't know if its do-able, but, if I can remove the operator name, and place the text there, thus having standard icon & percent (iOS style), would you be keen on it?

Of course, this means that you won't have the name of your telco there

I would like it to be inside the battery, cuz if you find away to replace tel logo you could make a small app to replace that with custom name as on the N900.
If you and others prefer it that way, no problem for me to have it IOS way, just think if possible that space could be used better with the mod mentioned above ;)

I prefer it inside myself. If I could alter name, I would put like ram or something as an option. But yeah, my poll is there to get community feedback.

Didn't know that. ABOUT TIME! Not that I want to see my hard work be for nothing, but it is certainly the easiest way. Even having the sources for 1.2 hasn't really helped (except that I got sudo sort of working)

In fact, I do not care not to have the Op logo, what I do not want is to have the battery icon plus the percentage value in the same area.

Just another idea:
Use 99%-symbol instead of 100%.
This saves 1 digit space and 100% is gone within seconds anyway...

Having all those increments from 1 to 100 seems a bit pointless to me. I would be happy knowing what my battery capacity was to within 5% increments.

And I still want to know where to change my Operator name text colour to black...
