[PR 1.2] Social Network notifications not working
 

Am I the only one that's not getting any notifications at all? In fact, I can't even open the facebook app, the screen only shows me the facebook logo and everything below is white. However, Twitter's working normally; but I don't get notifications when someone mentions me or anything.

Works alright here. I know this may sound obvious, but did you enable them in the settings?

Yeah, I don't really know what's happening. I've deleted my account and re-added it a couple of times, turned everthing off and then activating them on; but nothing seems to work :/

They're not instant push notifications, as you might expect, they'll just pop up when it regularly checks, so they could be as much as 30m later, and won't pop up if you've already been into the app and read them.

I've gotten this too. Facebook not loading, but blank. Might need to relish again.

Yes, I know that but the thing is that Facebook just gives me a white screen and on the notification screen, the only updates shown are the ones from twitter :(

razor i was having the same trouble.. i fixed in this way:

i delete the account, i installed the development mode, the phone reboot, after the reboot i open the browser and log in in my facebook account (it ask me if i want to keep the password i say yes), then i add my facebook account to the phone and after that the facebook app works again ..

edit: i do this and the facebook app works again ( dunno why xD)

Same problem here. Everything seems to work, only the Facebook app (1.2.40+0m7) stays blank and there are no FB notifications in the newsfeed either. I can set my status to online and see other online FB users, but the FB app itself stays blank. :(

I haven't tried it yet, but I saw a posting about it from vitaminj:

Edit: johnsnipe's solution didn't work for me either. :(

Mm strange :s, well my full process was this:

If all else failed, try a reflash... The notification will obviously not work if the fb client is acting up...

My only gripe is that I was hoping the notification tone for the fb and twitter can be personalized...

How? Reset to factory settings?

Settings > Reset > Clear device :confused:

Can't I just uninstall the FB app and then reinstall it?

Damn I have had this problem for the past day too. Tried to reflash 4 times and still didn't fix it. Yep settings > reset > clear device worked...but clears all your contacts so backup first..

backup file is in MyDocs/.backup/

guys, any idea on how to fix this very issue, but not only with FB, but with Mail app itself?
It simply keeps telling me to set up a new account, though I still have them in Accounts and I`m able to set them all online (FB, Gtalk, Skype) with red icon...]
but there`s no mail notification or anything since yesterday`s OTA update and trouble with N9QuickTweak app...
I flashed it today with NaviFirm, re-installed it with NSU, no change whatsoever...
the phone still acts strange...

also, I can see my pictures in Filebox (Pictures) but Gallery app is still empty...?

dis you flash the emmc? If not do that along with the rootfs. Better yet clear the device and without using it flash both and then clear device again when its done flashing. That should make your phone as new as fresh out of factory.
this applies if you didn't do any product code chamge. I without changing product code was Abbey to flash northern Europe version in Singapore version phone of mine

Sweet! I didn't know I could use those backup files after I cleared the device. I'll copy them to my hdd and give it a try...

It will be update your pictures after you restart your device or capture a photo.

I made a backup, copied it to my PC's hdd, cleared the device, restored the backup (also other things like ringtones, pics, ...) and now the Facebook app is working! w00h00! http://users.telenet.be/lsz/gifs/banana.sml.gif

My Twitter app was working normally after PR1.2 update, just had to enter my password anew to grant access to Nokia N9 client. But Twitter notifications are not working. Yesterday I deleted Twitter account and then created it again - still no go.
Do not want to clear device for such a small glitch though. :)

Actually, strangely enough there's been a couple of times where the notification shows up even though I've already read the mention in Twitter. Anyway, the idea of push notifications is supposed to be that they're instant and don't require polling... kind of like push email. So I don't really know what to call these notifications :rolleyes:

I have Twitter normally working, only notifications on LPM, lock screen and event feed not showing.
Actually today it was resolved - I had an mention notification on my device :)
Only deleting/recreating account worked for me.

Twitter is working normally for me, but Facebook doesn't update itself automatically only once after reboot.

Could you set up any refresh interval time for Twitter and Facebook update?

I keep having this issue as well, but for me the Facebook part is working and Twitter isn't.
I already did a complete reinstall of the firmware, so that's not helping. Also removed my Twitter account and added it again. Didn't helpe either.

Even stranger, the Twitter notification does work in one situation: after a reboot. And then only once.

I've never got twitter notification as of yet. It just gets updated in Notification window every refresh. Facebook notification only comes through to N9 if I manually refresh Feeds in the Notification window making this whole push notification useless...

and no twitter notifications.

I only got once a direct message notification when I deleted
the twitter account from the phone and created it again. But after this
one time, I didn't get any notification again.

Tweets in the Feed screen are updated successfully though.

Has anyone found anything to resolve this issue?

Same problem here. I never got one single twitter notification. Yes,
they are turned on.
