It is logical that you lose the warranty..

Any reason why Nokia is not directly selling these cases? Could als be nice that we could easily go to a nearest Nokia Outlet and let them change these for us, instead of fiddling with the phone and end up breaking it. And buying the case from them would guarantee us that it's Original. Unless they want them to break so we can buy more!

Re: Anyone replaced the N9 chassis/case?

I know there is some debate about whether the various replacement housings from ebay/etc... are real/copies. Having purchased and changed my housing I would say it appears to be real (not sure how come there are so many on ebay!) But *IF* they are all copies, then maybe we will get to see yellow/red colours that I keep seeing for the new Lumia's that are coming this week.

Would anyone else change there N9 for a yellow casing if it was available?

Technically, NO.

I sent mine to Nokia Care because there is a stripped screw inside causing me unable to remove the plate inside, my phone is still under warranty.. Its best to send it to them.. BTW, do prepare your own housing as Nokia Care selling those housings for more than USD$150

Re: Anyone replaced the N9 chassis/case?

I tried replacing my housing because my old one is chipped and now the Nokia won't turn on. Any suggestions? I didn't even get all the way:

Undid 2 body screws.
I took out the screen.
Undid 2 battery-housing screws.
Reassembled from here.

I never took out the battery or touched its connector.

Now when pressing the power button, there is no life at all. Any suggestions?

If you just tap the power button, does the bottom-left LED light up briefly? It should even if the screen is mis-connected. Make sure the battery connector is fully pressed down.
Or perhaps the battery has discharged due to you inadvertently shorting something? Disconnect it, hope, reconnect it and then attach a wall charger.

You can also use a navigation holder for the display to remove, remove the USB lock. then remove two screws. Then take off with the suction cup display. But I explained everything in YoutTube.:D

Thanks for all your suggestions guys!

I actually found another post on the forum that solved the problem!
(apparently, I touched the power button while the screen was removed, and this caused the problem)

In my case it did help to disconnect the battery (you can do this with just the display removed), wait a minute and then reconnect the battery. If you reconnect the battery, the LED should be flashing once.
