A photo enhancer program, very cool, just loved it on the N900. It's similar to Magic hour for Android/IOS though no online sharing options.

No much too ask...
Currently annoyed by the so-basic limitation of the N9. I want to use it as a professional phone but it is not (yet ?) mature...
* Working multiple MFe account for contacts
* Swift Key X keyboard (or similar). Swype is just not good enough.
* Proper routing with public transportation (like Google Maps). Nokia Maps is slow and only knows subway in Singapore. (Gmaps on ICS Nitroid is brillant)
* Skype video call
* Live time table for buses in Singapore (exists for Symbian^3 and Android...)

Has anyone successfully run a game in MAME on Harmattan? On an Easy Debian chroot it gives me a segfault every time I try to load a game (I've only tried pacman so far).

I'm very annoyed, I compiled a huge list with links to the Play Store on Google and my reasoning why I wanted each one. I mis-typed the security code image a few times, and it said that a moderator would eventually put up my post after reading it, and that was a week ago.

Way to waste my time TMO! Does this forum have a mod?

That's the application which makes n900 unique as a RAW shooting camera.
I use n900 as one of my primary photo cameras, (another one is Canon SLR with Mamya lenses) and I cannot switch to anything which does not keep RAW files. That's why even 808 is not an option.

Also, as I always online in my own jabber server, it would be very nice to have official support for xmpp protocol, not only gmail accounts. I do not have google account currently. Harmattan is not Android to require me to have a gmail account, and not just jabber

WE NEED INSTAGRAM!!!! Its recently been ported to Android from iOS, why not have it ported to Meego?! More plugins for lockerz, or yfrog and TUMBLR (please!!!!!) on N9 will be cool.

@qgil Can you comment on my quest for Apple Lossless m4a support? I have seen specs around that suggest m4a support for N950 and N9. As it is available for N900, It can't be too hard for Nokia to put it in.

I just saw that many blogs did say there would be m4a support, but Nokia themselves not. "Audio codecs: MPEG-4 AAC , eAAC, eAAC+, MPEG-1 audio Layer2 (MP2), MPEG-1 audio Layer3 (MP3), WMA 9, WMA Voice 9, WMA Lossless 9, WMA Professional 9 and 10, Dolby Digital Plus (AC-3 & E-AC-3), FLAC"
But there are some codecs in there that needed OggSupport on the N900, so when can we expect m4a?

Or should I convert my iTunes library? Please give me some indication. Thanks!

I hope something comes out of this list but frankly my hopes are not high. I see Nokia stopping development of apps for N9 like Pulse and moving their focus wholesale to Lumia.

Even now I see a discouraging trend of quality apps for N9 coming out at a trickle. Take a look at the latest apps in Ovi store for each category and see what I mean. Most of them are meaningless no-quality apps that you'll shake your head over.

Commercial developers like Peregrine and eBuddy have abandoned N9. Even some private developers refuse to do anything when their apps are broken by PR1.2 (eg. Open Video Player, Shortcuts). To date there is still no MS Office editor. The development of Whatsapp appear to have a big question mark. Members are jumped on for even daring to ask the progress status.

The only bright spark is the development of Nitdroid for N9. 2012 may be the year that MeeGo dies quietly as users dual boot into Android 4.0.

I switched to LastPass on my Mac from 1Password as LastPass also runs on my Ubuntu laptop whereas 1Password is Mac/Windows/iOS only (maybe Android now - not looked).

LastPass has a Symbian client though it's old and creaky and clients on pretty much anything. They've said in their forum they aren't planning to support the N9 - maybe Nokia could twist their arm or let someone else develop a Qt client?

On the upside, their mobile website isn't too bad and it doesn't make a half bad 'web app'.

What I really miss is an account manager to handle incomings and expansis on the phone. I use "Piggy" since begin because it was promising, but it seems that it is no more developed/updated, so it's good only to have allways a saldo of the different accounts, but you have no history.

Because I could'nt find any good application handling incomings and expansis, maybe with scheduled events, every suggestion is welcome.

Not really an app request in the literal sense but what I really miss on the N9 is a WLAN connectivity status indicator in the status bar. It's only visible whether the device is connected to a WLAN but there's no hint about how good the connection is (eg. 3 bars grayed would indicate a bad connection).
To view the connection quality one has to tap the status bar and look at the icon on the status menu.

That's such a basic feature that I wonder why it's not there since PR1.0. All the more I wonder why it's still not there in PR1.2 ...

This is also not a app request in that sense but I do wish there was a on/off, standby toggle option on the status bar because that would benefit allot of people that have loose and wiggly power buttons etc.

Perhaps it's because there was never a Symbian app like this, but for those coming from webOS, iOS, Android, the lack of a forumrunner or tapatalk client is a bit frustrating. With clients like "Forums" (tapatalk on webOS) I can bring up my favorite forums (that support tapatalk which is dead simple) and view/post to my subscribed threads or the newest additions, etc. without the clumsiness of a hone browser that requires me to zoom in and pan to read.

I would very much like to have an app like this for MeeGo/N9.

Wuala is now offering 5 GB of storage free. It is similar to Dropbox but with the diference that the data is encrypted. Wuala is available for Windows, OS X, Linux, iPhone, iPad and Android. Unfortunately, the code is Java. It would be nice to have a way to use it though.

I used Vagalume as a last.fm client on the N900. Have not investigated if there is a working build for Harmattan but they mention, on their website, that "Vagalume also works in MeeGo-based devices...". Might be something to look into.

Great to hear this. I have bought the N9 for one reason I did not like the android and IOS operating systems compared to my experience with symbian phone c6-01. However, I am missing key apps for the phone. Tango, viber and fring. I know these are 3rd party apps but Nokia needs to know that their N9 will outsell every other phone if they can convince these 3rd parties to port their apps to it.

Other important apps that I have in my android phone and use frequently are:

- Parcels: package tracker.
- Flight tracker
- Shopsavvy + RedLaser ( I know there is MeeScan which is great, however needs improvements especially allowing user choice of action like product search. The way it is now, we need to tap the screen several times before I get to price comparison)

One last thing is I wish we can get dophin browser to n9 way better than opera and firefox.

Something like this. A proper astronomy app that uses GPS and the gyroscope etc. Really missing this from iOS..
