you do not even need an extra app just change the music player and start using flowplayer, it has it intergrated, once you start playing a song in the center, bottom part of the screen you'll see a msg icon it will open a tab inside the player with the lyrics and option to fetch from different channels. Hope this helps.

One more important app I miss for n9 is racechrono. This is available for Symbian and should soon be available for Android, but developer concidered after Mr. Elop last year announcement that it is not worth to implement for Harmattan...

However, it would be great if someone would still port it to n9... :)

Torus trooper.

Graphics look good and are smooth even on low end systems. Controls are very simple (no keys needed) and it's like made for controlling with accelometer. This game wins SpeedX hands down.

Source code can be found here: http://www.emhsoft.com/ttrooper/

A DSLR controller for USB connection. :)

pyKake for N900 is somewhat similar and uses IR connection.

There's an app for android which gives you access to nearly ALL camera features like remote liveview, remote control of most common settings, remote capture, focus control and much more:
http://www.androidpit.de/de/android/...ontroller-BETA
http://dslrcontroller.com/

Don't know if this even doable for N9, but that would be just awesome!

Seen that to.But i just did,nt like the way they take ownership of my contacts info and what ever else they might get from my phone..

Jenirok works different, It searches a public database, and dos,nt collect anything from my phone.
Realy hope someone vill consider porting it:)

The app you mean is WhozCalling. You can get it here. Just be warned that it builds up its database by uploading its users' contacts to its servers. Despite this you probably won't be able to identify an unknown number.

Re: What apps are you missing for the Nokia N9?

- OCR software - my friend's Nokia E66 can do that with Nokia Multiscanner ( http://symbianv3.com/nokia-multiscan...s-with-camera/ )

- Office suite

- Ovi Maps 3d (like here: http://mynokiablog.com/2011/04/19/ov...ole-lotta-wow/ )

- not really a whole application, but in maps/navigation app there should be an option to plan your travel with public transport (as in google maps)

Doesn't Nokia Public Transport enable this exact thing?

Re: What apps are you missing for the Nokia N9?

hmm, I don't know how could I miss it. Just checked it and it certainly does the thing, but does not really work well in my area (Zurich/surroundings) plus you cannot display the path on the map - only beginning or end of your route and it's damn slow on my n9. So, agreed, new app not necessary but there's a lot room for improvement here.

Slice - it scours your mail for receipts then tracks them for you. Would be nice if it added delivery dates to your calendar.

Re: What apps are you missing for the Nokia N9?

Well, being a late comer, I don't know if anyone mentioned one feature I used quite often on my 5800XM: Voice dialing.
I am surprised that today's smart-phones need an internet connection for a feature that was working reasonably well 3 years ago on a rather cheap phone.
Voice dialing, along with the voice synthesizer is very useful for people who cannot chimp on the screen all the time, but still want to make a call. Like bicycle riders for instance.

Re: What apps are you missing for the Nokia N9?

a funambol client would be great, or syncevolution with the ability to sync not only calendar and contacts but also tasks and notes. As far a I know only some additional code should be required to enable syncevolution to sync also tasks and notes. Please ask Patrick Ohly, the developer of syncevolution.

I believe that a complete sync tool is a must have.

In addition to that I would like to have pfuel - the good old palm tool. If you like to see more information please open pfuel.sf.net.

And there was another nice tool in the palm world, it was very simple but useful: open
open is a small tool to store information about the opening time of shops, restaurants, bars, offices and so on. If you are interested I can give you some more details. Developer is Steffen Hartmann, more at www.steffen-hartmann.de

Both tools are published under GPL.

Thanks.

Re: What apps are you missing for the Nokia N9?

Since I'm carrying a lot of documents on my N9 lately I've been missing the ability to print them out the phone directly (with wifi enabled printers). There was an app for android and it worked very well with my old lg p500:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...e=related_apps

So I think this would one.

Another one, similar but in reverse:

http://nokian9world.blogspot.ch/2011...symbian-3.html

And the latter one could also have text-recognition capabilities - which would just make my day. Any chances of those appearing ever?

Re: What apps are you missing for the Nokia N9?

One thing that's missing is that some of the N9 apps are claimed to be the same as N900 apps, but are missing essential functions. For example, you can't easily copy a word in FBReader so you can look it up in a dictionary. That is only one of many features that the N900 FBReader has that the N9 FBReader doesn't have.

I second the fb reader plus a Full fledged Office Editor...including a pdf App that supports horizontal page scrolling and annotations...something similar to ezpdf on Android.

Re: What apps are you missing for the Nokia N9?

It's important to have apps doc-scaner and fax-scaner for free, pdf-editor, video-msn msnger independent from contact list or fring app should do that.

There is OpenOffice and Abiword & GNumeric if you use Easy Debian for Harmattan. Let's the community motivate qole to push an easy-to-install release.

Re: What apps are you missing for the Nokia N9?

they at least should've convinced damn Soundhound to release N9 version...I'm sure we all have gotten into many situations when it was just impossible to compete with crappy Droids or iPhones, simply because such (and some really good) apps are "unavailable"
and it's not about some pathetic or envious thoughts...
qgil simply should've picked the most-requested apps from this list and made it happen, only for a last sign of some "good will" from Nokia, since we're already doomed...

Just wondering, is the Lumia version of FB any better compared to ours?

Galaxy S2 version seemed extremely detailed. I have the N9 version, then there's that Fmobi, the thing is Super Slow and never gets updated as compared to the symbian one, last time I checked they were on version 3.0. Looked impressive.

A flashcard application. The N900 has about five; the N9 can't manage one.

Latest version of fMobi's great (3.03 IIRC, released 1-2wk ago), tis $2 in my country, better than stock IME.
Then there's Sociality, dev on it's been slow lately (MAG's a busy man!), not sure how it compares with fMobi & stock.

I think you're forgetting what he explained about how this thing will work.
Try reading some of his earlier posts here, & associated wikis etc.

WP7x's notification framework is known to be far less capable all-round than Maemo6x (see MNB articles on it), so it'll def. fall down in that area.

It was updated recently, took much longer than the S^3 version, but it's now at parity, well, in-terms of version no's at least.
