Re: overclocking kernel modules + UI for PR1.2 [ko v1.5.1] [ui v1.0]

I found out my device is running stable at 1300mhz even with 1.275vcore by completing 10000 iterations . So far I was using 1350mhz at 1.387vcore , does this affect the cpu anyhow if it seems to need 1.275 to run ?

That shouldn't be possible, anything you do in the UI is passed to the sysfs entry exactly the same as if you're typing it manually. You can't run that test without the UI to start it, it's part of it.

You are right (of course). I did more testing now; with UI I can get to 1,4 GHz stable if I use 'Custom voltage'-setting as with the echo command. 6000 cycles of testing went ok.

Echoing to /proc/opptimized without voltage value froze the phone also instantly.

With defaults settings 'vdata->u_volt_nominal' shows 1375000, so basically it just seems that if I use only cpu slider, the smart reflex freezes the phone at 1375000 with both UI or with echoing it.

Otherwise Smart reflex can be kept enabled in settings (eg. I didn't touch that button at all).
I always rebooted between tests to remove the possibility of downclocking causing crash.

I'm happy now, thanks Creamy Goodness! :)

Conky seems to be a stronger benchmark than opptimizer's one . After doing 16000 iterations at 1300mhz and 1.275v I've open conky then phone freezed and rebooted .

1,4 GHz with 1,375v the OppUI test with 16000 cycles went through without problems.

During the test getting and answering calls worked flawlessly. Playing video worked without errors, as did the shooting of video.

Temps were ~35C according to Conky. The room temperature was 25C degrees. The phone was not in direct sunlight. The real test begins when I get to beach, and you may have to wait a month or two for that... ;)

I seem to have a great CPU die, as it runs 1200Mhz @default voltage of 1,175.

Edit:
Ok a game crashes it :-) Benchmark did run fine several times.

The most stable I've found is 1100 mhz at stock voltage of 1225000, with No loss of battery life or any problems what so ever.

And this is through extensive testing.

I get same

~ $ /home/user opptimizer_1.5.1_armel.deb
-/bin/sh: /home/user: Permission denied
~ $

That's funny, I did verify the benchmark uses 100% cpu, and the math is floating point. Maybe Conky does a lot of integer math lining up all the fields and that part of your CPU couldn't handle it. I'll try to add some more interesting benchmarks when I have time.

I guess I forgot to tell you to type opensh before trying to incept the packages? Try that, I will update the first post.

So, you are stuck on the inception website part still? I think you just need devel-su or "normal root" before you can incept opensh. Double check the instructions were followed completely.

If you don't enter a voltage, your default should be less than 1300000. SmartReflex usually lowers it quite a bit. The one that says optimized gets used if SmartReflex is on, otherwise it's dyn_nominal or something. I wrote the formula it uses in the first post, or just look at the field that says omap_getvoltage, that one is requested from the voltage controller and should be correct.
