It is curious how these devices have so much variations in this aspect. I have had mine running for months, basically since this program was announced by Creamy, at 1280 with 1287500 voltage, and absolutely no proplems at all.

Of course, can't know if im burning the line from both ends. Hopefully not...

Arie, what does that "owner of the fastest n9..." mean? Up to somethin ;)

Re: overclocking kernel modules + UI for PR1.3 [ko v1.5.4] [ui v1.2.6]

Alright, very important question. Does overclocking cpu affect any other componets clock? What I mean is: Is cpu clock synced with any other clock? Because, how is this cpu overclocked? Is it like old pcs when we were raising fsb and both northbridge clock and cpu clock were raised? Or is it only multipler raising? Or is it totally different?
Why am I even bothering to ask? I got, at least I thought I had stable 1.2GHz clock at 1.25V. 16000 interations done many times and no reboots until now. I wanted to download maps. That is: wifi working at full speed, gps also working and phone rebooted. Why? Three possibilities:
1. Software error (quite possible)
2. Cpu is not stable at this freq with this voltage (don't believe it)
3. Cpu is stable, but overclock affects other components like wifi or gps module.
Any ideas?

Good night guys! i'd been trying to follow this long post, because i was hoping somebody could help me and introduce me to this meego world :D since i dont know almost nothing about it.
Now , i have a question:
Do you know about a place in wich i could get a mainboard for my nokia n9(64gb)? i f**cked it up trying to replace the case... i have all the tools need, but for my surprise.. two of the screws were welded! man i just cant be more unlucky, do I? :(:(

I know what you mean. Some have issues even at 1100mhz. Mine's been running for months @1300mhz with stock voltage SR turned on and with no issues. Not saying anything will ever happen, but no reboots thus far and is running even better with the new kernel. I do have a brand new backup N9 just in case though :) just weird I suppose

the thing is that it actually worked very well. I don't know whether the cpu is already degrading...and I wouldn't want that. I must figure this out, if it's gonna get worse I will sell my beloved n9 while it's worth anything and start looking for a white one.

I'd like to say thank you Creamy for making this possible. I have had my phone running stable at 1.3Ghz for a couple of days. I even tried forcing my phone to reboot (30 apps open, playing a game...etc), but no success :). Everything looks great atm.

Re: overclocking kernel modules + UI for PR1.3 [ko v1.5.4] [ui v1.2.6]

I got the Harmattan stable at 1175MHz at v1275000 with SR on and kernel version 1.5.4 and UI 1.2.6, and without any warnings. Or alternative 1150 MHz at v1225000 (default)

But trying different set-up re MHz even with higher voltage gives either a warning about possible danger for the N9 or between 1175-1195 MHz unstability.

Question: Are you bypassing this warning to manage to get MHz at 1200 or even >=1300 or how is it possible to get this high performance?

I have set it at 1200MHz at v1300000, using kernel version 1.5.4 and UI 1.2.6. It is stable for now. I am not trying to go higher than that, just in case.

Is there a noticeable difference in stock web browser performance after OC to 1.1 - 1.2 GHz? Coming from iPhone 3GS, even without OC, the N9 provided a nice speed up. However, the other day I played with a Samsung Galaxy S3, and I have to say that the browsing speed far exceeded that of the N9..

subtle; Opening it is very slightly faster otherwise nth much...

FYI running 1.255Ghz here and overall not that huge leap from 1.15Ghz...

Its always based on a user's use-case instead of an general across the board difference...

1.1mhz? o.O

Too slow for anyone's liking...How do you load a single app on that? :p

your installation has failed... Do a reboot then purge whatever parts of opptimizer are present, reboot again then install...

overclocked it to 1.3GHz @ 1,300,000µV + Faster N9 mod: running stable

running aprox 40 games and apps in background: causes reboot

i think i will never run 40 apps/games in background ^^ so i stay with the 1.3GHz option

edit: i can feel the difference between 1GHz and 1.3GHz + Faster N9

it's like a new phone. big thx community :)

Yeah its fun but at 1.3ghz some stock apps are having difficulties, e.g. Nokia Store, that one is really ashame from it's stability point of view. At 1.1ghz it's running normal (still having bugs but this is 'normal')

Try 1150Mhz then as if you prefer 1100 then the extra 50Mhz while mot making a huge difference, help with the swiping lags especially when making a call while receiving a text...

I was running at 1255Mhz since this was updated for pr1.3 but just reflashed and IMO 1150Mhz is the sweet spot...

no problems so far. very stable, very smooth and the nokia store works fine. just downloaded one app

Re: overclocking kernel modules + UI for PR1.3 [ko v1.5.4] [ui v1.2.6]

I have installed Opptimizer and activated inception as well many times.
The problem is that the app doesn't seem to communicate with its kernel for some reason. The UI asks me to update the kernel online (even though i have the last version) and the the first screen of the UI has the "Unkown" state for every item and the raw output says failed to execute loader. Can anybody help?

Could we put a poll at the top where people can vote for which speeds they have found to be stable so that new users can have an idea of what frequencies should be safe to test out? Thanks!

Sorry, I don't think you can just add a poll to the existing thread. I don't see how, anyways. Try around 1125-1150, if nothing crashes for a few days you can try another 25mhz at a time. My swype keyboard starts crashing around 1175 :(

Try to verify the .ko modules are installed and load them with
/usr/sbin/aegisctl -k
/sbin/insmod/ /lib/modules/2.???/symsearch.ko
/sbin/insmod/ /lib/modules/2.???/opptimizer.ko

Oh, sorry, I forgot aegisctl is not part of the main inception package.
It's not the reason the opptimizer doesn't work though, aegisctl is just needed when you run the manual commands. I suspect your actual problem is the .ko files are missing or in the wrong folder.
See thread here: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=82991to for how to install and use it, the last post has a link to download it.

Btw, for anyone that wants the 1.2.7 changelog, I lost the source temporarily so it's not been pushed yet, but my notes from before state:
opptimizer-ui (1.2.7) unstable; urgency=low
* Support for VDD2 / GPU settings (only smart reflex for now)
* Fixed bug where incorrectly installed OPPtimizer always thinks there are updates available

Hey.
Have you any idea why the overlocking difference is so big from 1.100-1.300 at the same N9 phone?
I have mine N9 at 1.160MHz and voltage 1237500, go any higher in settings at MHz or voltage gives warnings. Is it safe to go higher than the warnings says without damage to the phone?
