Nothing wrong with it for most people, so a rebuild of it isn't needed.

You tried getting a fresh copy from this thread instead of using one you downloaded yonks ago?

Compass?? Want to be more specific?

Also if you are talking about the GPS Compass then I was using the drive app for many hours yesterday without problem..

I have been running this update for a few days without problems..

First time using this, indeed seems like lag is gone.
BUT at least with apps podcasts and internet radio player there seems to be constant buffering/pausing when multitasking same time. Nokias own internet radio works fine and also Podcatcher..

The problem here is that you're saying it's unstable, but you don't even give any other description about it. How is it unstable? What error messages are you getting? What apps are loading slower? Etc.

I understand English isn't your first language, so just use Google Translate to help you, so that it will at least give us some idea on what you are really trying to say.

Re: [Testing needed] FasterN9

Did the OTA update yesterday and immediately installed the 0.9.7. Don't know if it's related to fastern9 (think I've seen some reports pointing to a bug in PR1.3 itself), but sometimes the phone doesn't turn the screen off after the 30 secs.
However, I can't see any real issues with it.

Re: [Testing needed] FasterN9

Working as intended, I think.
Been running with multiple apps and different workarounds for ~6 hours without problems.

Re: [Testing needed] FasterN9

Hi,

I'm so new in here, and I'm just wondering If I want to install Faster N9 in my plain N9 Pr1.3. Do I have to install some previous version or I just go ahead for 0.9.7

And if there is Pr 1.4 in the future, do I have to uninstall Faster N9 before updating firmware

And is there any way to store my messages from N9 to my PC, since if I have to reflash my phone, I have something that I want to keep it as long as I can

Thank you all in advance for your kindness :)

First, welcome to the community.

You should install v0.9.7 straight away...If there is a PR1.4 in the future you might have to uninstall fastern9 if you wish to do a OTA update. However, no indications of pr1.4 being present in the short-term...

Use the latest Nokia Suite from Nokia Beta Labs to sync your messages to your PC. MMS will not be stored but all SMSes will be stored. the link in case you can't find it: www.betalabs.nokia.com/trials/nokia-suite-beta

Will there be any newer versions of faster N9? I really like it and it helps very much to reduce te lag.

Re: [Testing needed] FasterN9

I went into a reboot loop by installing 0.9.7 version (it was stated as working OK on PR 1.3 in previous pages). I had no version installed before, so it was a fresh install. During the reboot loop, the phone reaches the UI in which I am supposed to type my pin code, but I can't type it (no input), and it reboots after a few seconds.

Any idea? :/

[Edit] It finally booted after 4-5 reboots or so. Did FasterN9 disabled itslef automatically because of the reboots, or shall I consider it to be working now?

Thank you so much for the warm welcome! :D

I'm thinking about to install it now, but I saw something like Faster N9 Transition Vx.x on other topics. Is it the same thing here or something optional ?

Thank you all in advance :)

Try something.. It helped me on PR 1.2..
When start to see the screen for pin code, don't wait, type Immediately your pin code and press Enter. Maybe it will restart again, but it boot up..

this is just fastern9 activating itself...the reboot loops are part of the process and no harm will be done...it didn't get disabled due to the reboot loops...

Re: [Testing needed] FasterN9

Well, have to first say a big "thanks" to the developers for such great mods.
I found a bug in combination with PR1.3. Have to mention this bug didn't manifest in PR 1.2.
The Auto Speaker Switch and Easy Answer are 2 apps that improve greatly the user experience with the n9.
They stopped after upgrading to pr 1.3. IFound that they work fine if I remove the apps and the mod, and install only apps. They stopped working if I installed the mod after the apps.
So, I removed the apps, installed the Faster n9, and reinstalled the apps.
Now, don't know if I'm just lucky or had a great moment of inspiration, but everything works great now.

A big thanks to the developer for this great application... FasterN9 makes the N9 feel so smoother, that iīm left with one big question: Why didnīt Nokia think of this first?

Re: [Testing needed] FasterN9

I really can't help myself but I saw no improvement with FasterN9 installed on my PR 1.3 N9...the UI is definitely smoother with PR1.3 itself...I'm more curious of upcoming OC kernel...

clearly after installing FasterN9 on a freshly flashed phone, the calendar icon stopped automatically updating.

The process is there and when I stop and start, it updates immediately, but no more on its own at midnight.

Anyone else getting this? Thanks for help.

Still working awesome, about a week in use and it's bugfree, lagfree and supersmooth. Thank you very much!

Update from "sound playback bug": it appears with FM Radio and any other third-party music player. With the stock app, Music, the sound doesn't get silent.

did you purposely remove a download link or instructions for downloading from the first post since pr1.3?

how do we get it back on the device for pr1.3?

Re: [Testing needed] FasterN9

I've read in the changelog for 0.9.4 - * changed install and uninstall scripts in order to prevent MALF

Does that mean that now I can install and uninstall without much hassle. I read the warnings in the mainpage, it says "DO NO UNINSTALL AT ALL. IF YOU WANT TO UNINSTALL FASTERN9, FIRST UPGRADE TO THE LAST VERSION AND THEN UNINSTALL" Kinda confused me here.

it works, you need to reinstall tweak T from N9QTweak after you have installed FasterN9...(if, of course, you have the toggles from there, just like I do)

There's nothing wrong with calendar icon updater but i still got that issue with Flowplayer. When i swipe some between tasks the phone freezes a little bit and bacground music got silence.

Are developer workin on that issue or it was the last version of this ?

Thanks, that's what I thought too but I did a manual install instead. Let's just hope that it still work after reboot because I've read that people complained that it doesn't work after reboot.

So far I didn't experience that but then again I did not install FasterN9, I also notice that the icon for Beep profile (PR1.3) no longer there after FasterN9's installation

By the way, just after installation. I experience 6 times of reboot loop before the warning "Reboot too many times" appeared and it forced shut down. After that I was able to boot up normally again. Is that normal during FasterN9 Installation?

Oh god, speak of the devil, I just turned off my phone and when I turned it back on, going constant reboot loop, it is still doing it right now.

Re: [Testing needed] FasterN9

First I apologize for several post in chain but I think it's best to leave them as it is for reader to feel the sense of chronology of the event took place

After several hours (2hours from what I've seen my last post) of reboot loop, with constant different timing of manual shut down (while waiting for f/w download from NaviFirm), I managed "somehow" to reach the PIN key in area for the 4th time(missed type in the 3rd time and reboot again), keyed in my PIN quickily and made a successful boot. Quickily uninstall FasterN9 needless to say, and wait couple of days before I dare try another reboot to see how it goes.

For info, the "hacks"/tweaks I installed are as follows:

-Home Screen Setting (removed after the 2nd reboot loop incident and initiate 3rd boot and was stuck in reboot loop again)
-N9Qtweak (specifics tweak are, Laucher indicator, Custom Notification font colour, Refresh button, Nokia Drive Traffic enabled)
-Inception
-Unrestricted UI
-Status Updater on Status Menu
-Mt Toggles 0.2 (w/ Bt-toggle0.2, gsm/3g toggle 0.1, PSM toggle 0.2, flightmode toggle 0.2, torchlight toggle 0.2)

I will update the list again should I find more to add. If you guys have these tweaks on board, becareful when you install FasterN9 v0.9.7

Hope this helps.

Hello

Had a problems with pr1.3 and 0.97 version of fastern9.
I was going to reboot my device (long press from powerbutton) and it went to reboot-loop. I had to reflash my device, only with main.bin so all userdata was preserved but now i am bit on my toes if this was caused by fastern9 or something else?

It will be helpful if you list down the hacks and mods you uses.
