With pr1.3 the Swype keyboard takes longer to load for some reason, any possibility of a speed fix in a later version? |

Can you do in terminal as root: apt-get install -f then post the output here... also try apt-get autoremove |

EDIT: here's a link to dropbox, the picture attachment to this post is quite to small to read I guess https://www.dropbox.com/s/lmrwt238vc...2_09-23-38.png |
Re: [Testing needed] FasterN9
ok do in terminal as root:
rm -rf /var/lib/dpkg/lock now try the above 2 commands again... Tip: put your dropbox link in the insert image dialog box...that way anyone can see the full-sized one when they want and you dont need to do it twice by attaching image as well as uploading to dropbox... |
Re: [Testing needed] FasterN9
I've done what you suggested and here's the terminal output:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/9w86xkeoxl...2_09-53-53.png Also, my installation error looks as follows, for any app, not only for FasterN9: https://www.dropbox.com/s/16h5l0606t...2_09-55-21.png EDIT: just read your post below, let me fix my dropbox skills and will update this post in a minute :P EDIT2: damn, this is the best I can do for now... Can't find this damn public folder (using dropbox in my browser, can't install desktop version now, as this is my work PC) |
Re: [Testing needed] FasterN9
I cant see your image...Did you copy public link into the image dialog box? Dont upload to photos folder but to public folder in dropbox then use the link :)

Re: [Testing needed] FasterN9
Can you install faster n9 via terminal i.e. using dpkg -i and post the errors?
Also for dropbox i use via browser too...From the screenshot you can see the public folder...Upload into this folder... http://db.tt/UcqaN95Q |
Re: [Testing needed] FasterN9
I've tried dpkg -i command before and it did not work, however, this time it seems it worked (fasterN9 can be seen on the application list in settings). The output is quite extensive, I've copied only the last part of it:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/mtgsqqpy0q...2_10-18-02.png There're messages concerning gpsmefoo app, that I've tried to install as a benchmark if installation process works after a couple of reboots. Also, my dropbox does not have a public folder. I'll skip the screenshot, but I think I might have deleted it or something like that. Anyhow, when I manage to get it back, I'll start uploading pictures correctly. EDIT: also, I still get an error when trying to install anything else, damn it |
Re: [Testing needed] FasterN9
It won't work correctly due to the gpsmefoo app screwing things up...That's why you have that long output which is actually full of errors...
Is it an app you can download for free? Maybe re-download it and install it via dpkg -i? Edit: To clarify i meant the installation of gpsmefoo screwing things up not the app per se... |

Re: [Testing needed] FasterN9
Also for the dropbox thing...On the left-hand side you have this link called Sharing...Click on it...It gives you the option to create a new shared folder...Maybe create Public this way...IIRC Public came when i created my account so maybe you are right; you must have deleted it...

That's because I restarted a system service (ohmd). The alternative would be force a reboot in installation but then some people get malf. Now you rebooted, this won't happen again |
Re: [Testing needed] FasterN9
Looks like my N9 stops receiving some messages.. I restarted my phone and got a 12 hours old message.. I think FasterN9 was the reason because my phone did that when I used it for a long time :s

Re: [Testing needed] FasterN9
Running 0.9.10. Rebooted after installing. Everything works okay. Thanks traysh for finally getting things in order in this thread.

Re: [Testing needed] FasterN9
had first installed v0.9.7 then tried v0.9.9
feels like with v0.9.7 N9 runs smoother and a little bit faster. |

Re: [Testing needed] FasterN9
Hello
I have been usin fasternN9 since 0.9.7 was released with no problems. Today I tried to uninstall it. After it finished removing it, the device rebooted. After this I received the "device not working" message. I have tried to press the power button for longer time and tried to reboot while connected to computer to no avail. Also nokias own software updater cannot be used as the software doesn't recognize my phone at all I tried searching the tread, but understood that there should not had been problems with uninstalling of 0.9.7. I wouldn't want to flash the phone now. So any advice would be appriciated |

Still needing help with this. I have also tried Fixing MALF according to this http://wiki.meego.com/N950/Fixing_MALF_state but my system (Ubuntu) does not recognize the phone in step 5 at all. Anyone? |
Re: [Testing needed] FasterN9
@Boxeri
Did you get the MALF on v0.9.10 or 0.9.7? What about trying using a Windows computer? Usually it gets detected after a while of installing it through Windows update.. |

Re: [Testing needed] FasterN9
flopjoke you cant fix MALF state using Windows...
|
Re: [Testing needed] FasterN9

your phone must be turned off for detection... run step 6 to check whether its really not detected... Edit: did you try rd-mode first maybe your phone boots up with that hence no need to fix MALF state... |

Edit: Dailymobile.se I used your N8 Mod's on my N8 and preferred them... thank you so much.... To test and see if your issue is specific to faster N9, remove it and reboot and see if the same issue occurs. If it doesn't it's faster N9 related. |
