latest version 0.9.4 just slows my phone to a crawl.

Example:
0.9.3 the only problem i had with it was that loading messages when opening them (as notifications for example) took way too long. This also occured when getting new media into Gallery, as if I transfered a file to my N9, it would take about 10 minutes for the image to popup in gallery. But the rest was blazing fast.

0.9.4 sees the phone's app launching unresponsible for the first few minutes during boot and makes the UI unresponsible if it's under load. Opening apps is simply a nightmare of a wait, even long after boot, they simply dont launch immediately. Loading messages is slightly faster though. Can you please make 0.9.3 available again, as the latest version 0.9.4 makes my phone even slower than it was before... Even if there really is no lag in animations!


I found the 0.9.3 deb file. Can I uninstall the 0.9.4 safely (then I'll install the 0.9.3 again)?

i updated to version 0.9.4 then uninstalled ,i still got MALF !

Happened again this morning...

Device was running for ~10 hours on v0.9.4 without any problems.
Everything was still working fine. Suddenly apps like cuteWiki, internet browser, messages, mail or contacts took ~2 minutes to appear. So I had to reboot again.

Uninstalled it now. Everything working fine again.

Im on 0.9.3 and everything working so im not going to update to 0.9.4:P cant go back to the small lags now that i got used to totally lag free and smoth;)

Ive been running 0.9.3 since it was released.

OC'd @ 1350MHz, voltage 1350000, SR on.
Inception, FDB Theme, N9 QTweak, N9Tweak, etc, etc.

Running PERFECTLY and FAST.

Not sure where these people are coming from with the 0.9.4 update.

Mine runs EXACTLY the same as it did with 0.9.3. Fast, and smooth as butter :)

0.9.3 Idle usage jumped from 25 to 85 mAh after installing. No other problems but still not usable because of battery drain :/

No battery drain over here, if anything my battery has gotten better.

Overclocked to 1.3Ghz with 1.275v and running with 20-25mA idle.

Also have 3 MfE accounts running, facebook and twitter feeds updating every 30 minutes and Wazapp in the background.

Try running 'top' in X-Term and see whats using all your CPU, my guess is Smartsearch or if Swype is enabled (meego-im-uiserv)


No its not, it is only risky if you have a weak chip, if your device is happy being overclocked it isn't really risky at all.

0.9.4 so far so good, nice and smooth plus battery consumption has returned to normal levels.

No drain here also. 1.3 GHz @ 1.3v, avg idle 7mA. Looks very good!

0.9.4 is better, the problem i mentioned earlier of the call log and messages not updating is also gone. an upgrade is definitely recommended...

ok, and what about deadline? is it really faster than cfq? have you tried cfq tuning (like recommended for servers "/sys/block/***device***/queue/iosched/quantum = 32" and "/sys/block/***device***/queue/iosched/slice_idle = 0") ?

i'm running on 0.9.3 and my phone has never been this fast! Thanks Traysh.

Almost every app opens less than a second, i couldn't be happier. I definetly wont install any upgrades, unless i find some problems

Edit: battery Idle 11ma, no lag. wazapp, skype online, about 30 apps installed.

traysh just a heads up... I was having those earlier errors as i was using the reboot app to reboot.
doing a simple reboot without using the app solved the problem. Maybe you would like to add this info on the first post to prevent others from complaining .

been using 0.9.3 for 2 days but upgraded to 0.9.4. installed smoothly yesterday and so far still no lags, still super fast!! idle consumption is at around 11-13mA with everything on manual update.

Hi, great post, but i have a problem, while listening music in players alternatives, how quasar and flowpayer, the music keeps crashing at intervals, this problem only happened in the last two upgrades.

For me 0.9.3 seems smoother than the new 0.9.4, but i'm concerned abut uninstalling 0.9.4 and reinstalling 0.9.3 after reading about the MALF incidents

It's a must have app in my opinion.
One thing which I didn't like is the Icon in the home screen. It was better in previous version nut having any icon in home screen which does not do anything.

Just installed 0.9.4 and after the device has settled in after the reboot, I immediately notice the speed up. Great app and great job, OP!!!

Question though: since this modifies system files on the N9, does it mean this would have to be uninstalled first when PR1.3 comes out (if ever it does come out)?

Are those settings the same for N950 (i.e. the initial ones it restores on uninstallation)? I tried installing it on N950 and it seems it only made things slower. Uninstalling didn't help to remove the lag.

hi, im new to the forum as a registered user but i have been here for a long time now and i´m very grateful for everything i have learned with you guys
just got a problem that i dont know how to solve

i installed yesterday fastern9 ( version .3) and wazapp latest release, today i noticed that my facebook account stopped working! its like the fb app cant see there i am in a connection so it never updates! all i got is blank screen! i have tried changing connections, reseting connections and reseting the account but nothing works! everything else works like a charm and fasterN9 is just too amazing!
can anyone help me?

uninstalled .4 did a reboot and installed .3 again.
might just be a feeling but this one works better for me...
