Hi and thanks for your awesome script.My N9 run really smoother with it.
But I notice an issue since 0.9.3 release: I can't run QNeptunea app (the best Twitter client :)) when I want. This app runs perfectly just after a reboot or fly mode, but it doesn't open each time I touch the icon few time after.
An idea?

Thats a Qneptunea bug, try version 0.27 or better 0.26.

I have uninstalled FasterN9. 0.93 has corrupted my tracker DB. No more photos were indexed nor music. Seems to be the same issue that many people have with no more Emails showing up, as they are also in a tracker DB.

I tried 0.94 after I had reflashed my device. But after 1 day weird stuff began again, so I uninstalled it and now everything works as expected. I miss the smoothness, but I won't trade it for stability.

.4 works fine for me , I don't know if I installed it correctly because I already have a MALF screen from multiboot kernel .

After longer period with 0.94 I have noticed some strange activity with my phone. It seems like my N9 have I mood of its own. Sometimes it works very fluid and scrolling in app drawer and events screen is about 60fps. Then after couple of hours without a reason phone starts to lag a little and fps is dropped maybe somewhere 20-30 fps. Then again after random hours it gets back to super-smooth.

This is kind a strange because there is no pattern when this happens. It happens very randomly. I thought it would be swap issue and downloaded Drop Cache, but no effect there. Is there anyone who have same issues with 0.94?

Hi y'all,

I'm new to this forum. I've only started reading this forum since I got my white N9 back in March. (this is my 1st post!)

But first off, my huge thanks to the developers for this amazing app. I wasn't too impress with 0.0.2 at first. But as soon as 0.9.3 hits, my the white unicorn N9 truly came alive with fluidity and grace! :P (I know I sound like a nerd here)

Here's my feedback for 0.9.3, some might sound nit-picky but it's in the interest of full disclosure:

- the UI is fluid 95% of the time, but there are still some noticeable stuttering/ choppiness when I scroll through the notification home screen. Sometimes it is more noticeable when I scroll slowly.
- the default browser becomes a unresponsive especially when I try to do a long press to select text. this happened enough times for me to notice.
- I do not use Facebook app nor did I install Wazapp. But based on my past week of using this app, I've noticed a minor but noticeable drain on my battery consumption.
- Majority of the boot-up time for the app is significantly faster, less than 1 sec. Message app being the most noticeable.

Also, I don't have QTweak or Inception installed if that paints a better picture for you guys.

Just installed 0.9.4, but will provide more feedback later.

Ive noticed a lot of application hangs for seconds and freezes before starting up on the latest version 0.9.4 ..

while the effects are good, the longer time to open applications is just beyond annoying

for example, i notice i have a text message notification on my home page and i slide it, i usually opens within 2-3 seconds now it feels more like 5-9 seconds and its not just that alot of apps. My music player freezes wen i start, not to mention takes forever to open.

:( anyone else experiencing this or just me?

edit: also even though i only have 3-4 conversations in text messages it takes literally 30 seconds or more for new conversations to load in the app and conversation even though i get the notification! (now this happened before but i noticed deleting all the conversations helps but it never happened when i only had 3-4 conversations going on)

Viny, did you install 0.9.4 over the old 0.2 version? i'd suggest doing a clean install as 0.9.4 is actually the most stable version so far in my experience.

If you don't know what that means, DO NOT use this software.

Reflashing means completely wiping your device ROM clean and freshly writing the operating system to it.

since u've installed 0.9.4 you should be able to uninstall it safely. btw i'd 0.0.2 and uninstalled it without MALF. so far only 2 users have had MALF issues so its not a big thing.

just go ahead uninstall, reboot and install 0.9.4

edit: to be on the safe side just do a complete backup and copy the backup over to your pc before the uninstallation.

I installed 0.9.4 yesterday and I must say that my N9 is faster than ever.

However, I´m facing two problems that I´d like to share with you.

1 - The security lock code of my phone was set to be asked every 30 minutos. Since I have installed Faster N9, the lock code is being asked every 5 minutes and I can´t change this parameter. Take a look!

I would be really thankful of you help me to understand this, as I never got a MALF myself. How did you uninstall it? Did you rebooted the phone after uninstalling or it rebooted automatically? What PR version were you using?

if the phone stay standbye above 30 minutes and go to open the first aplication slow very much you must work and open apps about 1 minutes to make it quick again i thik that is a bag

mine version is 0.9.4, uninstalled / installed again - nothing happened. PR1.2. rebooted automaticly.

if you dont use your phone for a long time all apps are very slower they needs after 1 minutes to work quick again

i would advice against installing 0.9.3 as traysh has mentioned there might be a problem uninstalling it.

It is good, I made a mistake in 0.9.4, but I think 0.9.3 is more likely to cause MALF when installing or uninstalling. Just don't reboot too soon

It will not cause MALF even after you uninstalle.I have two phones N9
and both of them run on the Version 0.9.3 without any problems.

I think it is possible to get it if you reboot too soon. The problem is that the application manager uninstalls the package in the background and there is no visual indication that the process is not over yet...

I have been on this thread for quite some time but i still can't decide whether to install this modification or not without possibly hurting my N9..

0.9.4 I changed the wrong value, so didn't fixed the apps that stop updating, like the phone and the messages. Also, I reverted the io scheduler to the default, but maybe there was no problem with the deadline one. And there's a problem I the uninstall script that will make it necessary to uninstall before upgrading to 0.9.5. I'll test the new version for a while before releasing to avoid more mistakes...
0.9.5 will also bring the same swappiness value of 0.0.2, to try to make the apps don't get slow after the phone was locked for some minutes.

0.9.3 is the besttt i just intaled to my phone even the phone stays to stand by the apps open quick 0.9.4 whrn the phone stays standby the apps does not open quick

0.9.3 failed after 4 hours email does not open 0.9.4 all apps open but the apps are very slow after the phone stays to lock screen mode

When Spotify is streaming, the audio will stutter badly if one scrolls through Events view.

first, big thank you to the developer for making my phone as fast as it should be!
i have noticed a few issues though, and i hope my feedback can help improving it.

1) when opening twitter from events screen and then immidiately swiping it away, it sometimes doesn't start at all. happens about 3/10 times, and there is no correlation with the number of apps already open/in running apps screen.
2) sometimes, when swiping away an app (not closing) the running apps screen is duplicated as an open running app on the running apps screen. running appsception :D have to click it and swipe again to remove it.
3) some apps don't always start or crash at start. this happens most frequently on maps and camera. clicking "not close app" doesn't help, need to close and start again.
4) camera sometimes doesnt start at all anymore. also isn't accessible for other apps that rely on it (nokia city lens for example)

the following might be related to fastern9, not sure.
5) takes ages to automatically find wifi (15-30 minutes after i'm home its still on mobile data)
6) idle consumption about 5-10 mA higher than normal, sometimes even up to 35 mA or more.
