Problems connecting to WPA EAP Wifi networks (eduroam)
Hi,
I'm trying to connect my Nokia N9 to the eduroam wireless networks available at work. I followed all the instructions which can be found all across the Internet, in particular I entered my login information again in the extended tab. I stored the network profile eduroam with SSID eduroam. Now, when trying to connect to the wireless networks which has the SSID eduroam, my phone asks mehr again to enter all login Information instead of trying to use the profile I just created. I already checked the IAD file, but everything seems correct. Why is the phone not using the network profile for eduroam that I created manually? An hints, anyone? Thank you in advance! |

Have you tried entering the information again? For instance, in Windows 7 you can't enter the login information on beforehand for WPA2 Enterprise networks - you have to enter it first time you connect.

Re: Problems connecting to WPA EAP Wifi networks (eduroam)
first of all, make sure its an automatically used network.
i use WPA eap, peap, no cert, eap mschapv2, username without @institution prompt pass everytime as no in advanced: proxy as per institution auto retrieve ip and dns= yes manual username = username@institute.. require client auth= off |

Do you think that could be the reason? I can try your configuration earliest on monday but I still have the impression that my configuration is not even used at all since I allways get the prompt to enter configuration data instantly when attempting to connect. Anyways, I will check that out and come back here on monday. Thanks, Chris |

I have never been able to get this to work with my corp wireless.

Doesn't work for me either :(
I tried my playbook in the same network today, and it connected instantly without any further configuration... |
Re: Problems connecting to WPA EAP Wifi networks (eduroam)
I have tried every possible combination connecting to our WPA2 company network. Read every post on maemo.org and elsewhere on this topic. It's a fact that the N9 does not support WPA2!

Re: Problems connecting to WPA EAP Wifi networks (eduroam)
This worked for me:
http://kb.mit.edu/confluence/display...ECURE+wireless The important steps seem to be: Creating a new connection, as opposed to attempting to log in first. Enabling 'manual username' in the advanced settings. |
Re: Problems connecting to WPA EAP Wifi networks (eduroam)
Looks like logging onto a network with same ESSID used by different routers switches to per-MACaddr-identification of network. Delete all your saved connections to 'eduroam' so no MAC address is left. Then define new connection specifying only ESSID - 'eduroam' and password, it will be tried no matter what MAC the router has (hopefully, but looks like it)

Re: Problems connecting to WPA EAP Wifi networks (eduroam)
Hello,
I again tried all possible and even erased all my stored and favourite networks (I actually reseted the phone back to defaults) but had no success. This is the contens of my %gconf.xml file, where XXXX@INSTITUTE.de equals my username@domain and MYPASSWORD my current password. It would be great if someone with a working configuration could compare it to his (working) %conf.xml and tell me if there is any difference. Code:
