I had the same problem... but here is what I did...

My country area code is 809 or 829.. so our phones are a like 829 XXX XXXX ...

I had to modify all my contacts to be +1 829 XXX XXXX

After that everything was OK..

Tried the same here. 0.1.7 opened the first time. SMS arrived without any problems. Start using the app, noticing some bugs, but working really fine for a first public beta.

Then I knew about 0.1.8. Installed and... it won't open anyome. As you, I tried to downgrade to 0.1.7 and even 0.1.6. Nothing at all.

I also got the output on terminal and sent to Tarek. Any solution so far?

Anyway, this is a great effort, an amazing job and we're showing Nokia and others big guys out there Maemo and MeeGo have some great people supporting it.

No if you read the first post this aplication wont work if your free one year period is over

I guess he meant that he already used WhatsApp for more than one year and cannot use it now on N9 since he cannot extend the usage time of this service since the inofficial Wazapp client doesn't provide this feature.

just put ur sim in any other device that has official whatsapp and renew ur membership then use N9
