Vromoth: I was joking a little bit, but afaik Wazapp was built on top of S40 code which does not support push. I don't know if there's any code from Android java code, but even if there is we would need to use Android push servers for it then. And if we would want to use Nokias push servers then tgalal would need to have his own push server for Wazapp which would cost money per month. I think it's not that easy.

Other than all that I believe that Push service is not very reliable on all mobile operators.

Looking great so far. But i have two suggestions.

1) Text and send button area uses too much space. I can imagine that in landscape mode you don't even see a single message bubble.

2) I like the back arrow on top bar. Unfortunately that prevents removing top bar in landscape mode (which would be a good idea). Or maybe only remove top bar when VKB is opened? That could do the trick.

That space can be used later for other options (emoji, media share, location share, so I would vote it to stay, with the condition that it is reserved for those functions, and even you can go ahead and put them in, just for the looks.

Anyone else having a problem with wazapp losing connection permanently when changing between wifi and 3G and the only way to get it working again is to quit and open it again? It just shows ( connecting ) at the top and stays like that for a while, so Im forced to quit and re open.

Hi man, it looks great!!! I was working in something similar just to probe my qml skills, I think a "Messages" button on the header looks better than an arrrow, but the user status is too long...

Whatsapp does not allow your account that you used to register at two exact locations at the same time.

You can only use one account at a time .Your account is valid only at the last place it is used.

WhatsApp on ALL phones registers using the international format.

It asked for your country, then your number without the first 0.

Does this on Android/iOS/BB but I am not sure about Symbian, pretty sure it does the same for Symbian as well as it is how they design the app.

Numbers are always in international format for WhatsApp.

Dude, you are using WhatsApp the wrong way.

first, conversation log saved on the phone, not at the server...the server will push the message to your phone.
second, as above said, your WhatsApp ID saved in international number format, only and only that.
Third, your friend on WP cannot register your number on WhatsApp? Aren't he suppose to save your number in his contact book? hurrdurr

I have problem installing it to the new 0.2.4 . Previously I have 0.1.8 installed. It was working perfectly until i wanted to upgrade to the new one. It says Dependency Notice. To completeinstallation of Wazapp additional applications need to be downloaded and installed. I click Accept. After that it shows Installation Failed , Installation interrupted , Try again / Cancel. It has been like this for the pass 24hours. I have rebooted my N9. Still same problem. Any help guys??
I even removed the previous version. Still same problem.

maybe they tried the trick of adding one digit of the phone number on the country code, it was possible in previous versions which you can't do now with 0.2.4, Tarek Galal said that problem will be solved in next version

No man, I know how to save contacts on the Lumia, and I know how to use whatsapp. Just today, I was chatting with myself between my 808 and the N9 using the same number. I registered Wazapp with my number and then removed the simcard and registered on the 808. You cant normally register on two phones with same simcard, you will get kicked out of the first one when registering for second time.

My friends also could send messages either on the N9 or the 808, but not at the same time, they were different accounts (like different numbers)

Im guessing it has something to the with the 1 digit trick on previous versions.

And yea, I got a Nokia 808 Pureview :) awesome stuff!:cool:

YES, looks like some kind of exploit-bug, the server banned me for 1440 minutes (fail:too:many), which is a full day, so Im still 14 hours left, until I can try it again.

Hope tgalal has noted this and prevents people from exploiting or failing in this bug. For me is annoying, but could be abused somehow (dont know how, yet)

Here too, happens when automatically switching from wi fi to any data be it 2g or 3g. It's always happened since the first version.

Also I've noted that the newer versions seem to consume far more resources that the former ones. Ram seems to be far more used up since I upgraded.

Perhaps it's due to the new UI?

Worth checking out.

P.D Though the most annoying issue is definitively the "connecting" issue when switching from wi-fi to data 2g/3g forcing you to restart the app, although it doesn't always happen.

Try this package, it helped me get the latest version installed.
Solved dependency problems that caused installation failure and or interuption.
Hope its useful for more out there.;)

I finally got my Wazapp working again after 3 days. As I was switching between my android phone, iPhone and N9, I got to the point when Wazapp kept saying "Fail-too-many" and persisted for the past 3 days. I emailed Whatsapp 7 times, asking them to unblock my account thinking that they must have blocked me from registering as I have tried registering for too many times using the same number, but they chose to ignore me.

Then i tried Whatsapp on my Android again today, I was able to verify and register. And I was still blocked on N9 and iPhone. So this brought me to think that some parameters must have been stored on the phone for the server to know that I have registered too many times. But problem is, i don't know where it is stored.

Uninstalling and reinstalling didn't help. So i clear device and re-install everything from scratch (not reflash), including Wazapp. And finally, i register my Wazapp on N9.

In case anyone got "Fail-too-many" without any timeframe indications. I am not saying that this will definitely work. Just sharing what has worked for me and hoping that this helps someone in the same plight.

Now a happy Wazapp user on N9. Thanks Tarek!

I am still having this problem. Right now I am just waiting and waiting.. Timer is at 45h without trying to register.

So what you are saying is to re-install everything on the N9? including all apps and whatever I put on it? :(

I will try to re-register in about 3h, If that doesnt work maybe I need to re-install everything from scratch..

Hi, I'm having issues with contacts from my own country (Argentina).

We are able to send/receive messages just fine for a while, until I don't know what happens and I can no longer see the messages they send me. They are still able to receive my messages, and the messages they send me are sent according to them, but I don't get them anymore.

I thought this happened because I used that 'registration trick' where we had to put the first digit of my phone number in the country code field, so I downloaded the latest version and registered (successfully) once again without this 'trick'. But this keeps happening.

This issue gets temporarily solved by having the other person delete your contact and re-adding you after you send them another wazapp message.

Anyone got this?

Just to reply on questions about what i did for my N9: I go to Settings > Reset > Clear Device.

This will make you lose all apps and your app data. But changes made to system files still stay. Like changes from N9 QTweak still remains for me.

After the device is done with its stuff, i start to re-install all my usual apps. Lastly, i install Wazapp.

I need to emphasize that this works for me and I am not guaranteeing that this works for you too. But worth a try if you are dying to have Wazapp working, like me... haha

just to report that I'm also having problems when changing from WLAN back to 3g/2g... upon walking out from WLAN coverage Wazapp simply quits without any notice...

few infos about consumption (with 2 MfE gmail accounts Always-up-to-date):
- Wazapp on WLAN: 12mA idle consumption
- Wazapp on 2G: 15mA
- Wazapp on 3G: 52mA(!)

my usual 3G idle consumption without Wazapp is 20mA cca… does this have something to do with my mobile carrier, or with Wazapp? (3G signal is alway more than half, so there can't be any excessive draining due to low signal)... ?

If an official client is used in this bug test and the bug occurs, then its COMPLETELY server related and nothing to do with the clients.

Theres nothing TGalal to do, he cant implement a piece of code to make your hand stop sticking sims into another phone.

Who in their right mind would need to use two different phones and two WhatsApp apps.

Just use a SIM for each phone and be done with it.

Its a very rare and not gonna be a common bug.

[wooow, we have such an amazing community .. if everything like this is applied in wazapp i believe that our whatsapp version can have better UI than the official one .. hahaha i bet if real whatsapp team see this they will try to apply it on their official apps as well

ooh and one left for the group chat UI .. i think this one is so cool

Did you try Settings> Reset>Restore Settings before you went for Clear Device? Restore Settings will clear all account and user data but your apps will still be intact.

not sure if the point of the bug is too have 2 dif phones and 2 dif whatsapp.

I couldn't registrer with my country code being +54, but it got registred using +541.
Now it seems i have 2 accounts for the same number. The one i used to work with (+54) and the newone (+541).
I only use 1, with 1 cellphone. But there is a dobleaccount thingy going on.

I'm thinking about add emoji selector in conversations, but there's 471 emoji files, and they are in 5 different categories. How can I know which icon is in each category?

I have the same problem. Duplicated contacts due to double registration, the first one with the +54 code and then with +541. The correct CC for Argentina is +54 but in a first attempt to register, it did not work.

when i "exit" a conversation, and then i recieve a msg, and enter to view the message from the homescreen of the phone, i cant answer it rightaway. It wont let me write until i click the send message button, in blank. It doesnt sends anything of course, but then it would let me write and answer.
