I have a feeling that once we pass v3 we will be officially passed the official Whatsapp for other handsets! Keep up The great work!
Personally I don't mind any of the minor bugs Im just hoping to get media sharing... Now that i see after the update, there is alot of space next to the send button, does that mean we are going to have buttons for media sharing soon? Man the shivers i get just thinking about it!
I know you dont need my help on anything! but if you do, well just shine your sign in the sky and Ill be glad to do so ;)

Hmm, don't like the new texting features :( Really takes alot of space.
In landscape it doesnt automatically scroll. So i need to manually scroll down to get the send button.

Disappearing of VKB after send is more annoying than having to scroll manually...

Settings menu top border still has no rounded top border.

I really like the new sending indicators.
Also great that the theme bug (always black after reboot or app quit) was fixed!

For notifications on the lockscreen, you should add an N9 style round icon instead of squared picture...

Bug in v0.2.5: Theme is not remembered when closing application (always reverts to light coloured theme).

Also, pre-loading conversations during the first few seconds after loading the app would be useful - there can be quite a delay.

Not a big fan of the large send button and the kb closing after hitting send or is that space for buttons to send emoji/pictures etc. in the future?

Thank you eitherway, the app is getting more and more functional and polished!

For the people with the message fail-too-many

Because we have reached the limit of SMS that can be sent us in a specific timeframe, there are 2 possibilities to fix this.

1) Wait until 1st June and see if the limit resets, suposing that it does every month.
2) Send an email to whatsapp inc. and ask to raise the lock. If you do, explain them the issue, without being too specific about unofficial client and give them your phone number.

If any one here sends an email and works, please tell us!

Due all the respect to the devs - the new layout is not superior to the old one. It certainly look better and the back button on top-left is very welcome.

BUT: The input changements are not good at all. Send button disappears often and feels attached to the messaging-windows (you always have to scroll). While portrait mode is still usable, landscape mode isn't anymore at all.

I don't think we need such a large "Send" button, the other one was totally enough. And send button has to be within the input window - else it needs way too much space.

Smileys look really funny :D What icon set did you use? Was there a problem with the original Emoji's (copyright?)? But I think they should be a bit smaller. They tear apart the text too much. 3/4 of the actual size should be good.

I'm sorry for being critical, the app is absolutely amazing. I know the difficulties of UI design very well... But I think its easier to understand if I keep things clear instead of using too many nice words ;)

Yes, voice button gives same error (failed:too-many) and try me indicates a server error (unknown reason)

Update is good. It's working more smoothly. Notifications are coming very fast.
But still somethings missing.
Most irritating thing is every time send a message keyboard disappears. Typing space is very large now. Needs to do some work with landscape mode. Message screen almost disappear and can't see the last message.
I hope another update is on the way as our beloved developer used to give two updates in a night :)

People stop it with the send button, doesnt matter if it is small or big or just not the right size,

what we need now is to send emoji and image sharing

Thanks for the last update, I could finally log in, however, all the test messages I sent are shown on red as pending (my internet connexion is on) and they actually go through. I can not receive replies from my contacts either, it shows only my first message in red, how can I fix it?

In next update, priority number 1: Display a HUGE Text that pops up every five seconds saying: "Please follow the steps in first page under Recurring problems"

@super-hero: I think smileys are so far only displayed when the other user selects an Emoji. :-) ;-) :-P etc are not yet converted.

@Fine_Mind: It's up to the dev to make those decisions. But I don't think sending Emoji are such a high priority, first the basic UI should fit without bugs. It was important to receive Emoji. Just use normal smileys for now or include your emotions in the message ;)

@tgalal, I made a few screenshots to show the bugs I experienced with new UI:

1st picture: While portrait mode is fine, landscape mode pushes conversation way too far up (screenshots are from same conversation). A small thing: Back button isn't shown correctly in dark mode.

2nd picture: Landscape mode - input windows disappears behind keyboard once you start typing text.

3rd picture: Ok... that person has a ridiculous long status message lol ;) But as you can see the Emoji causes to overlap the status msg with the next name.

Hope that helps a bit. Thank you for the hard work, I'm appreciating Wazapp a lot!

Hi, first of all, thanks for the update!!

Some bugs/annoying:

Is very annoying that the keyboard hides each time you press the send button. The same thing occurs when you copy the contents of a bubble, it is quite uncomfortable.
Another bug I noticed is when you have multiple conversations open, if you want to return to the contacts page, you have to close one by one each conversation before reaching the contacts.
If I use the swype keyboard, there is a very little free space left to see conversation bubbles, the new send button is so big makes it worse, would be good for the submit button if we use the ENTER button on the keyboard, or the previous smaller ones. You must also take into consideration the emoji button. One suggestion for the media buttons would be with a swipe on the dialog text area show the those media buttons.

That's true. Space for future Emoji button is needed too, I didn't think of that... Therefore the new text input design makes sense. It's a good idea to make Wazapp look&feel close to the standard N9 messaging tools. Still it's important to keep those elements as small as possible, standard messaging design does that better.

But it's always difficult to perfectly imitate a certain design, therefore it's already very close :)

@tgalal Quick bug report.

Keyboard automatically closes after pressing the send button.

Can be annoying if typing multiple messages at a time to the same person or having very quick messaging.

on the stock messaging app, when turning to landscape and opening the VKB, the top bar dissappears, included the status bar and the space of the contact information (name and profile)... try it on your N9 and you will see what I mean

This creates more space for texting, so you can see the conversation while typing.

Hi team,

Some remarks con release 0.2.5

* registration process completed without problems +1
* font size +1
* color theme default +1
* new icons +1
* keeps connected even if it is running in PSM +1

However some minor things to discuss:
* distance between bubbles is big, not comfortable to read
* Virtual keyboard problem when rotate device
* Back button, what everybody think to keep it in the bottom, instead of been located at top?

How it can be connected in PSM? As there should be no connection in PSM.

And about button on top, it actually saves place, as bottom toolbar was useless(it had only this button), it's just matter of time you get used to it, as it's always about what you are used to...

just updated to newer version .. works great .. the new UI is also not bad .. however, personally i dont like the new message box and the design of the back button also doesnt look very good .. it occupy too much space and everytime i send a new message it will automatically close the keyboard ..

i remembered that i did not get the closing keyboard problem in 0.24 version..

Overall it is very good :)

the closing keyboard is not a problem in my oppinion its a better ui you can see the whole conversation after you send msg and it will pop up when you want to send another one just click it really simple...

What do people think about including the current software version in the title of the thread? There are happily many updates happening in rapid succession, so this way no one gets left behind. This approach has also worked well for other threads. Trust me, this'll help when we're not checking the thread 3 times a day, not including how we checkTwitter, Facebook blogs, etc.

Hi, I've modified the qml's to change/fix some issues whith 0.2.5 UI, these are the changes:

• Changed font size and weight in bubbles to match default messaging UI
• Wazapp icon added on the left of textinput
• Fixed height in textinput and the send button container
• Fixed send button size
• Send button container only appears when textinput has focus
• Text input doesn't lose focus after the text is submitted until you tap outside it
• Textinput was separated from send button, so send button is always on bottom if you flick the conversation
• Send button is disabled until you type some text

Known issues:

• Text input doesn't fit to bottom if you switch from portrait to landscape and viceversa
• Rare effect when adds new line in textinput
• Need to tap the textinput to accept one word or one letter string and activate send button

I'm trying to fix this issues and to turn off header in landscape, so, try it at your own risk :P

Loving the updates! Just a quick question though. I've never used Whatsapp on a different platform, so I am just guessing they can change their statuses, since my friends have them. I'm fairly sure I've tinkered with Wazapp thoroughly, but can't find any option to change my status message. Am I right? Or did my technical abilities fail me? :))

I was getting the same error...I tried the voice call route and it failed..tried it again and it worked!
