Hi everyone,

Thinking that my Wazapp was broken (because I couldn't send media files) I unistalled it following the Wazapp wiki and installed it again.

Unfortunately it installed two icons on my app screen, one "active" (it shows the X for unistalling when I long-press on it) the other "dummy" (it doesn't show anything). I thought there was two app shortcuts under /usr/share/applications but actually there is one waxmppplugin.desktop that manages the two icons, I mean; removing this shortcut, I delete the two icons on the app screen.

This is what it shows

I noticed a problematical issue with Wazapp massages (didn't find this issue on gitHub):

After opening Wazapp and loading the receivable messages I am facing the issue that not every message was received (in group conversations).
I am very sure of this issue because I asked the group members. Btw I already reinstalled Wazapp...

You are unable to notice this issue cause you are not getting any notifiication about it... only if you know that there are some missing messages :D

from what I see from OpenWhatsapp translation, it is more towards BB10 feature..rather than wazapp's current feature.

@soryuuha OpenWhatsapp is BB project, not MeeGo ;)

If you could stop spamming Github on media sending issue, that would be great. We are fully aware of it and are working on this since last night. It's complicated and obfuscated.

I've been reading and following this discussion for quite some time now and although wazapp is not free of bugs and error, I feel obliged to thank all the hard working devs for their outstanding work so far!

hello, my name is Sebastian and I'm from Argentina. From the beginning
I am using wazapp and love, is the best app that has my n9.

sorry my bad english.


Lately I'm using my phone a lot and loses power at the end of the
day. It occurs to me that would be good Wazapp detects when the phone
goes into power saving or when you have a certain level of battery
that can be configured within wazapp and automatically change the
status to let my friends know that I can not answer if there the phone
turns off. I think having some comic several predefined messages or
the option of writing their own text.

It would also be good to detect if I am listening to music and put a
message saying for example "I'm listening to music, do not disturb
..." or say "listening ..." and add the name of the theme music. or
you can type their own text.

I know some programming stuff but i don't know the language so as not
edit it and do it myself.

I think that they would be good those options and all other users of
Wazapp may like too.

I thought a polite request to tell us which .py files were changed wasn't a problem, not to mention spam. Apparently it is. Well, I'll STFU, I quite liked this community, and yes, you helped me a lot, thedead, but if you're putting me on a list of spammers, like I'm a bank robber or something like that, while I didn't even know my comment would be seen as spam, I'll quit, you won't be bothered by me anymore.

Stop crying like a kid :p I posted the link to the issue with tarek's comment and a clear request not to post there unless something useful to add...

See github is a bug-tracker not a forum. Nobody adds anything unless they know how to solve the bug. The only reason I added the issue there is as it wasn't there and previously a registration issue simmered here for more than a day without tarek even knowing about it so I put it there as a safe-guard.

Every comment added there is sent to everyone who subscribes to the issue (incl. tarek) and it gets irritating for the developers.

No you are not a bank robber but this is not the first time people from this thread have treated github as a forum so i listed the names in anger. Maybe I shouldn't have done that hence my post is now deleted ;)

So calm down and like I said stop crying; we all make mistakes :)

Hey, I dunno if the devs still read this thread but in wazapp, when we copy a message, it copies the text. But in cases of images and maybe music, if we try to copy the message but only the text gets captured not the image. In short i was just wondering if copying and pasting an image would be possible.

@hamoud younes only one bug here, when switching connections messages not sending again. you should do it manually.

I'm using wazapp 0.9.17 on my Nokia N9. I'v been using wazapp since last year. And till yesterday it was workin almost well. But now i have a problem. Now i can't send any media files to any contact like photos or videos. What can i do to fix this problem ??0

Nightly build is based on stable wazapp,so wazapp cant send, nightly also cant

Here's a very dumb question, but I had to make it: what's the difference between the "regular" Wazapp and the "nightly" version? Which one should I use?

I try to answer: the "regular" version is the latest stable version, i.e. everything is tested and working. A nightly version is basically an "alpha" version, with new features but sometimes very instable.

In this case, the nightly20 is good, it has just some trouble on switching between the connections, but I use it daily.

does somebody know what we have to do after the 12 months of free whatsapp use are expired? a friend of mine faced this situation today on his android so i started to think how this works with wazapp? couldn't found anything in the wiki as wazapp isn't 12 months old yet... but soon :)

OK, without going into tech talk, we tried making sense if new media handlers.
Most of it we got but key thing, upload URI has changed. Encrypted and obfuscated.
Can't find the logic behind it, yet.
Be patient until we crack it. Help by researching or remain silent.
