New version, looking good, the wazapp logo in the text box gives a new feel :D

Few bugs discovered:

2. There should be a squircle in notification widgets instead of plain square profile picture.

3. When receiving more than 1 notification from the same contact, you wont get new sound alert until you clear it.

4. There should be a counter telling how many new messages are there in the conversation (just like the official whatsapp)

Mr Tgalal, what about opening a public bugtracker? This way we can hunt them down :)

a bug in the landscape mode - a large free space inserted on the bottom of the chat screen - had to scroll up to the last bubble to see what I'm replying, and then scroll down to the "Write Your message here" field

tgalal, first i want to thank you for your excellent work. You are amazing.

If you play a little bit with landscape mode, like switching between normal and lanscape several times, the input textbox seems to disspear and you only see half of it. If you touch it, it goes back to normal again.

Just that. The app is great, you are a god damn genious.

No, The basic features are more important, use e-mail or mms.

Don't make repeated requests for features that are coming when they come.

It is open source, so if you feel the importance, instead of bugging a developer to do something that would make more problems then solve, code it yourself, otherwise hush and let him and others who know what they are doing work.

There could be a delay in launch and little freezing on reconnects until wazapp.im is back online. (to fix)

found an annoying bug with the N950 on version 0.2.6 (newest version at the moment while I post this.)
When you slide out the keyboard in a conversation, the top bar with the back button (to go back to the contacts) disappairs.

and PLEASE make an option so that people who are using the N950/N955 (bt keyboard) can send the messages with just the enter button instead of clicking on send everytime :(
a toggle for this setting will be great, so everybody will be happy

nice update.. The messaging UI seems very smooth and almost like the default one.. Great! However, there is this slightly larger space in the upper part of every speech bubble and the text starts a bit lower than usual. No biggie, but that tiny extra space makes all the difference in annoying and making fewer bubbles available in the screen.

the text selection is a bit buggy.. Also, magnifying glass isn't there yet. But at least we can select text somehow

the rest of the UI, i.e. the contacts and stuff is still laggy.. Seems like that's the maximum it can be tweaked? Maybe the default contacts app can be used as an example or something.

In others whatsapp clients (at least in Symbian), settings contains 3 menues:

1) General:

a) Push name (already now on account)
b) Save media disk (C, E, F on Symbian)
c) Block people (bring a new page where you can block/unblock users)

2) Notifications

a) Personal messages

I) Alert sound (choose from gallery)
II) Vibrate on/off
III) Notification light (in Symbian is menu button light)

b) Group messages

I) Alert sound
II) Vibrate on/off
III) Notification light
IV) Mute group notification (can set a time also, see on BlackBerry client)

3) Network

a) Connectivity priority (WIFI then Celular, Celular then WIFI)
b) Ask before connect Celular network (enabled/disabled)
c) Use roaming (disabled (use only wifi), enabled)


Thats all the settings in my Symbian version.

Also in About menu, there is some options:

Status of the network: connected / not connected
Connection time

Account information (expiration time, buy menu)

Send all conversations over email.

Help/FAQ


Also if you select a contact, you can:

See his/her picture, the number associating with whatsapp, the actual status and how long they made that status. You can send the conversation over email, also you can call over phone, and update they status.

Another thing you can do with the original whatsapp, if someone writes you do not have in your contacts, you can add this person to your address book.

That's how it should be. Go to native Messaging app and measure pixels, then let me know. I'll adjust spacing between messages if necessary. :cool:

Since this update, I have been experiencing random crashes when clicking on a notification of a message, and randomly while messaging wazapp crashes, strange.

If it continues I will run from terminal and check the log for errors.

Actually, minimum size of the bubble (if text is very short, like "Lek") is defined as the size of the timestamp.
If timestamp is longer than text itself then text should be put in the middle of the bubble.
That fix has been pushed to master branch this afternoon. :o

One more thing about speech bubbles. You said is as native bubbles. But comparing with SMS bubbles, font size is a little bit smaller. It is possible in the next release, adjust the font size?

No, that's something else. I'm still considering increasing that font size. Problem is, bubbles get bigger and practically unusable in landscape.
I guess, we can make it a little better than native app. :p

Hi!
I still have the same issues with 0.2.6 that i had prior version, the app loses internet conexion and I have to quit wazapp and re-open once or twice if:
- I switch from 3G to wifi or viceversa
- I leave it in blackground (multitask screen) for a long time
Is that something that hasn't been fixed?

I know it's possible to increase the font size in the Messages app (via N9 Quick Tweak), so is it possible to do the same with wazapp?
