Wazapp does not work very well for me at all. In fact, it's barely functional.

Half the messages I receive, I can never read.

If one clicks on the "Chats" tab, half the conversations are invisible (just totally blacked out and unselectable). I can manually select the contacts in question by going through "Contacts", but I only see the messages they sent prior to this bug occurring, not after.

Once this bug hits (and it seems to eventually for all conversations), the only way to 'fix' it is to uninstall Wazapp and reinstall it.

If I'm to understand correctly, this is a known issue?

I believe it is hurtful for the developer to see this post when they are working so hard for us(n9 user) and ppl still wishfully think whatsapp will develop for n9 user.

Just stating a 'if' here. If whatsapp really create for n9 user, are u guy going to just use that and forsake wazapp?

Such a hurtful thing to do...then why the developer work so hard for? And only get impatient remarks and ppl that don't really appreciate.

guys the store isn't working right for me.. is it just me or this is a global global issue?
I am in malaysia now and some how i can't check any application review and all search results come as not found!!

Nah Tgalal's work is safe, those idiots from Whatsapp will never make a version for us. Besides, with the way Wazapp is growing, I believe on a couple of months it may even be more functional than the original, already Tgalal said he's implenenting Sync that a user will decide which numbers he/she wants synced. I see it growing real big such that when they decide to release the official one it will be pointless.

Yep, i agree. He/They are doing a great job. I also knew whatsapp will never make a version for us, just that still got alot ppl wishfully think they will.

Wazapp is good and i appreciate it. I study computer myself. Had a diploma in it and pursuing computer science degree now. I know how difficult it is to create an app/software/website and maintain it. So, i don't anyhow nag and complain.

When Tgala mention on changing the UI and the framework, it is noted to me that it is a really big change. Need to retest every basic function to ensure it is still working on new framework.

To all, just wait patiently... not everybody is willing to create app for Meego platform. Please appreciate it.
Dev version is release to seek more help to test for more bug that they may miss out. Not for non-techy people to get the latest version and complain it is buggy.

I have updated my n9 to PR1.3 and Wazapp so far is working fine on it. No worries to all, for the moment.

I've just installed the PR1.3 and wazapp it's running without problem, I'm using the 0.2.6 version. I just had to re-install it and my accounts, chat logs and everything was there.

PR 1.3 mostly enhanced the screen orientation speed and smoothness in looks, it's very fast now and looks very good :)

I got the update notification for PR 1,3 in KSA. Only question shud i update??? I don't wanna sacrifice on wazapp after updating !!!!

PR1.3 won't affect it at all, there's no reason for it to, Wazapp doesn't rely on any PR1.2 specific stuff, so go ahead! :)


Also really what did you guys expect from a bug fix and enhancement release? Its just gonna tighten up the N9 experience to have less bugs during real time usage, not stuff you'll notice straight away, the idea is for it to be invisible but in the back of your mind you will realise the phone hasn't messed up the way it used to before the update as often :D

With yappari (whatsapp client for N900) we received the message too, but the link points to /download and not to /nokia.

Hello,

Am I the only one experiencing problems with the installation of Wazapp.
I get dependencie problems python-dbus,python-pyside,python-qtmobility and python-accounts.
Is there somewhere a package which installs these?

Open x-term and type in.

devel-su
rootme
apt-get -f install


That will install any missing dependencies.

This has been very well documented if you would care to search first and post later!

I too received the official WhatsApp notification urging me to update.

I also got Wazapp to stop sending and receiving messages today. Could there be a 'connection'? Perhaps Wazapp requires an update, at least to bump the internal version number send to the WhatsApp servers.

Hi!!!! I update to PR1.3 and Wazapp 0.2.6 bet works ok. Then Install wazapp dev version, to try it, and also works ok. Now I uninstall wazapp, delete .wazap and .waxmpp folders (the one you copy .zip to install dev version, and try to install 0.2.6 beta again. The instalation completes ok, but it doesn't start. I get Loading... screen and then go back to menu. Whats wrong?

For anyone experiencing the random wazapp crashes, I have a workaround solution for you!

Read this thread and the last post will explain what to do in order to have Wazapp restart itself automatically upon a crash but not if you quit it yourself. (You need to use Script 2)

Hi, i'm going to try your script, I don't know where to put that file waxmppplugin.desktop yet but now my problem is that wazapp don't start. i think my problem is i delete some folder or app. To install Wazapp Dev Version, i had to install a tweak app but I already had PR1.3 and that app is for PR1.2..... so I start to play with this hack app and in some moment I decided to reboot my phone, but I wont to go back to Wazapp 0.2.6 beta, so I uninstall the Dev version and then reboot my phone. At that moment my phone don't start any more... it's reboot all the time. So I had to re flash with PR1.3. I try to put PR1.2 but I can't downgrade it, so now I had PR1.3 clean. I download wazapp 0.2.6 17mb, but it don't start. I already try this apt-get -f install in terminal as root, but no luck. This command don't downloaded anything.

any ide?

Well that sure is a large pickle :s

As for where to put the desktop file, it goes in the /usr/share/applications/ folder.

Have you tried making sure you deleted the .db file in /home/user/.wazapp??

Also run Wazapp in terminal to see why it doesnt start :)

Hi godofwar,

Why jump on users who merely ask when the new version of wazapp will be out but entertain those who get into trouble installing the developer version? Which is more distracting in this thread to wazapp devs - those bringing all kinds of installation problems of pre-release versions or just asking for a release date?

The step by step instruction to install the developer version should never have been published. Those who don't know how to install it or solve basic problems shouldn't install it. Now this thread has become an "agony aunt" for general users who got into trouble with developer versions not meant for them.

Just remove the file /home/user/.wazapp/XXXX.db (XXXX = huge number, in your case it is probably 722070140767588)

You'll lose the conversation history though.

I've managed to install the developer version yesterday and was usable but today it was impossible to use, and as i don't know why and don't have enough time to try again i'll wait for the official release. It seems quite promising. Hope it get released before july 12th. Thanks to all of you that are here to help newbies like me
