Seems to work properly, I have received an old message and sent few.
Though the dots are acting weird. In "Chats" it's red dot and when in Chat-window i's green.. Sent or not sent?

Also it needed a few reboots to work. Could be my carriers (saunalahti, Finland) fault also. 3G's been quite sluggish for few days.

Awesome job. You saved my day!

.. but my N900 could use this app too. AND FAST! ;)

AND SUDDENLY! I received a new message while writing this. Seems to work.

vibration seems to be a bit strong...

if in a long chat it will eat batt i guess...

would be a nice thing if it copy the settings that i have current for sms receiving vibration... so its the same system wide...

Hi Tarek,

Compliments for your work!
But I have problems with sending messages because i receive them but when I answer the dot remains yellow.
All messages that i wrote yesterday are still yellow today .

it works for me after installing registering and running the app i just went airplane mode and removed my sim it works prfectly

it is normal, you need to wait the receiver open whatsapp, then your dot will become green, i tested

I can't start a conversation because I can't see any contacts. Then, I can't see who is texting me: I only see the mobile phone number.

Please, help me!

I installed the app, register via SMS, but the app doesn't open! It just says “Initializing” and closes immediately!

I uninstalled and re-install the .deb 3 times. Reboot the N9 after install… everything.

Please, help… :( please. Please.

Thanks Tagalal for the great work done!

Can't wait to try it but i have to wait 1400+mins for the next sms request... that is like 24 hours! I am not sure if Whatsapp server needed me to be disconnected for some time before I am allowed to register again (I have an android device with whatsapp too).

Judging from the amount of questions on the green/yellow/red dots, It seems to me that many people here have not used Whatsapp before but chose to used Wazapp.

Yes, Singapore does have N9 but simplified chinese is the official one here although some of us (including myself) can read traditional chinese. Anyway let's not have a chinese conversation here.

Works just like a Whatsapp client! Awesome work! :D people like you make us love open source community more :) I'll donate some for your effort soon.

bugs noticed:
1. Time stamp on the messages and chats screen is displaying the time when the message was received on my phone. It should display when it was sent from the other phone instead. Not a request, it's like that in original whatsapp. That's how we know when the person sent a message last, and not when we received it.

2. No option to delete conversations. Not a bug, but sometimes leaving a group can become critical it they all start chatting a lot and it annoys you.

3. Splash screen while registering flickers .. Probably mentioned this before in the thread.

4. I have 0.1.8 now.. Still causing permanent red dots issue?

5. The UI.. Yes, I know people are bothering you with this, but the UI should really follo MeeGo's original UI. This one is taking a lot of space.. I know you worked hard on it, but please consider implementating the original UI. I can help you with the designs if you need help. The dark theme isn't properly implemented and the light theme would look perfect if it was MeeGo style.

6. The autoregistering doesn't always work.. Took a couple of tries.. But you already mentioned this.

7. Some status messages overlap each other.. You mentioned this as well. Wonder why it happens though.


bugs aside.. The BEST feature I liked so far that ONLY N9 users would enjoy is the option to QUIT Wazaap whenever needed! :D please.. Please never remove it in the future versions! This will save so much battery and distractions which is a problem all other platforms face.

Again, awesome work man. Thanks to the guys who helped in testing as well.. Keep up the good work! :)

I am aware that group chat works partially and also there is no way to delete a conversation and that is fine but biggest problem thus far is when I was invited to a group chat, i simply have no way to leave it and constantly get bombarded by messages by countless people in the group whicb i have no.idea who is who. This perhaps should be a priority issue to sort out in the next major release.

Hello

First of all thanks for your hardwork!

I am trying the public beta in France.
Registration via sms went ok and i can send and receive messages.

I get two issues from now on:

- If i leave wazapp running in the backround and stop the internet connection, when i start back the internet connection wazapp can't connect itself (status = "Connecting"). I have to quit wazapp and launch it again to make the connection work.

- I have a red square instead of wazapp icon in the accounts menu.
Is that normal?

Any idea how to solve the “Initializing” problem?!

I complete all the process: install .deb, reboot the phone, register via SMS/voice call.

But I can't open the app. I hit the Wazapp icon and then nothing happens… closes!!!

Please, don't be selfish! Help us… :(
