@amr.fayz---i got this file bro....the problem is with installation....it says libtimed0 missing and i tried to install reinstall meecolay and meecolay-librarypack many times but still no success and same problem is with SIGMA PLAYER and easy answer.......so now what to do??? Thanx for quick reply...

libtimed0 is provided by meecolay librarypacks but if a specific version is needed, dependency errors will be thrown

I can't do anything more than now. contextkit requires newer libtool (AapoRantalainen is working on this afaik) and librarypack qmsystem2 is faulty.

this is lovely project ,marmistrz i would like to make a request here as if you could take a look at apkenv as well .I loved the meecolay concept and hopefully apkenv can bring an other revolution to N900 owners . Thanks anyway ,keep it up .

FFS some of them are already there. It's only dpkg complaints.

I can't include libxi6, libx11-6 or libc6. Ask CSSU team about this, if they include it, I'd be very happy! These libraries don't work correctly if placed somewhere else, e.g. in librarypack :(

I recently reflashed my phone and am going to install meecolay again. Can I just install meecolay core + libraries or do I need meecolay as well?

As MeeCoLay is still dirty and user-unfriendly, I'm thinking about making a tool which would convert the MeeGo installer to a Fremantle installer (move some files and etc.) so that it's just a one-click-install. (or at least easier setup than now with some progs)

But I don't know how much motivation I'll have ;)
Would you donate for such interface (I plan both full Qt GUI and command-line tools) and if yes, how much would you donate?

I think you do great work marmistrz. How will it be easier exactly? I think the thing that would make it easier is when you install an app or game an icon is created without having to use the workaround. Just my 2 cents :)

So this is my vision.

You get a GUI interface. You select a .deb, set whether it should be installed straight away with Hildon App. Mgr., or whether you want just a Fremantle-compatible .deb (e.g. to install it with dpkg).
Beside this, you select whether you want to download exact differences or use the built-in algorithm which should work in most cases.

The modified debs will have the icons in the right places and .desktop files (icons in the menu) already fixed.
The .desktop files will be fixed too. They'll have a forced rotation workaround already applied (X-CSSU-Force-Landscape=true) and executables will be launched via meecolay.

Users will be able to send me the "diffs" between original and wanted versions so that they are included in the MeeCoLay database.

There'll be a command line interface, hopefully.

@amr.fyz----i extracted and manually put QUASARMX files in opt....then i got this error.....symbol lookup error: /opt/meecolay/lib/libqmsystem2.so.1: undefined symbol: dsme_
battery_empty_ind

that got solved by...LD_PRELOAD=/opt/meecolay/lib/libdsme_dbus_if.so.0.2.0 meecolay /opt/quasarmx/bin/quasarmx



but what changes should i do in quasarmx.desktop...to avoid using terminal everytime to open quasar....plz help

Use the xterm command as the content of the Exec field in the .desktop

@sifo: this should be in wiki: if you use specific command, it can be put into the .desktop.

@everyone:
This'll be fixed when the GUI comes out (and the command-line tools). But if no one donates, this may take a quite long time until I finally write GUI :) not enough motivation :D

not like this

made sh file (quasarmx.sh) and but in it

and in quasarmx.desktop only do this

Exec=sh /opt/quasarmx/bin/quasarmx.sh


and put icon in

@marmistrz--when i run ucbrowser i get this error.....it installed without any dependancy problems.....any solution to this....

hay guys i tried to install web2sms but i dint go well and it dint even apt-get remove so finally i ended up with deleting in /opt/web2sms and now problem is /home/user # apt-get install web2sms

MeeCoLay is not already ready for an end-user. You need to know basics of Linux. (For example .desktop files)

But I'm thinking about creating a GUI, which would be appropriate for a normal user, who doesn't know anything about Linux. It'd be very easy and user-friendly. But if you want such a thing, I need to have motivation :)

You can animate me to create the user-friendly UI by donating (you may pledge the donation and pay after the UI will've been finished)

The more people would like to donate, the faster the UI will be created :)
