i mean, maybe yappari using dedicated server as "proxy" sorry i don't know what proper name :D

why i asking this? i just worried if some thing happen with this "server" than yappari service will be gone. but another story if yappari direct to wassap server. they owned by giant company so technically nothing to worry :D

my turn to file a 'bug'
my Yappari now does not display incoming emojis. Instead, i just get squares displayed, even though the log seems to indicate I get the proper input. Besides upgrading to the latest Yappari when it was released, I don't remember any other changes on my system.

When I send an emoji, it displays properly.

The user sent me an emoji just before I said "Thanks. Goodnight." The time stamp for their message is Thu Apr 10 22:50:51 2014.

Thanks for quick response.

I wonder if Whatsapp didn't perhaps 're-map' the emojis.. because last night someone sent me the 'standard' angry emoji, but I still received a square.

I will keep track of the log, and see what turns up.

Don't think there are new emojis, have the same "box" problem with an bb user, but is just with that user, others bb users are fine, don't know why.

Happens with older and new version of Yappari same user. Not big deal anyways.

Forwarding text messages (between 2 groups) will cause my client (at least) showing message as it was sent by original sender;

e.g.:

1) User_A wants to forward text message from Group_A to Group_B

2) message showing in Group_A: User_B: msg to forward - timestamp 11/04/2014

3) after forwarding User_A would expect to read in Group_B: User_A: msg to forward - timestamp 17/04/2014

4) after forwarding User_A actually reads in Group_B: User_B: msg to forward - timestamp 11/04/2014

That's not a Yappari's related problem. That's something with your repositories configuration. Are you using official repositories?

Try an apt-get update first.

@macey, it is weird. Just select yes to the Qt Mobility package. I don't remember having that problem when I first installed it.

Hi to everybody. It's my first time on this forum, but i often read your posts.
I have a problem with Yappari. When i try to do the registration, i have this "SMS Registration Failed - You can try the voice registration method", so i try it...but.." Registration couldn't be completed. Server response was: too_many_all_methods"..

I tried to unistall and reinstall Yappari..
I tried to put my Sim card in an Android device.. but nothing to do! The situation is the same :(

Can anybody of you help me? I know that you can do miracles in this sense...tnx to all ;)

hi Scorpius, is it possible to manually add new emoticons to yappari?
I found icons folder and realized emoticons come in 48x48 and 32x32 folders.
Adding files into this folder (using correct resolution, filename and png format) will work?

But in reality emoticons are more than that. They are actually Unicode characters and have to be defined as valid emoticons in the code. Even if you define a new one in the code, nobody else will see your emoticon, since it's invalid for the rest of the universe.

I have been using the app for a few months and really enjoy it. However, just like that, it asked me for registration. I put in the correct number and cc and then i get after 4 seconds or so "SMS Registration Failed" "You can try the voice ..."

You're typing the number wrong. Are you 100% sure you know what's the international format of your local number?

Some people have never ever called their home countries from another country so they don't really know how to type their number in international format.

Looks like WhatsApp Inc. blocked/banned you. Usually those bans are final.

A lot of people is getting banned lately. I wonder what they do to get banned.

Really ... that's not good at all. I now start to use this thing and I get ban. Is it really final? I really hope not. I did nothing. It just stopped working. Yesterday I noticed my messages are not being read but I didn't really consider that it maybe because I was banned. wow.

I wonder if you really know what QML is? It's just another programming language, it's just that QML is modeling oriented.

The result would be the same: the interface *I* want. If you want something different, well then just do it. The source code of Yappari is there, you can grab it, modify it, fork it and make your own WhatsApp client, etc.

What *I* want for Yappari is to look as Maemo as it can be. To be an identical copy of the Conversations application.

I wonder if anyone will use the source to make clients for other platforms. I just updated my Nokia 520 to the latest WinPhone version and the official Whatsapp client runs badly on it to say the least. I'd also love to see a WinMobile version that could run on older smartphones... it'd make them far more useful.
