I think you have to remove it completely and install again. In terminal try
root
apt-get remove yappari
then
apt-get update
apt-get upgrade
apt-get install yappari
apt-get install -f

As what was said by @murik, try to remove Yappari complitely and install it again.

Make sure you have installed rootsh and the repository Extras-Devel is enabled. Then
Code:

rm -r .yappari
rm -r .config/scorpius
root
apt-get remove yappari
apt-get update
apt-get upgrade
apt-get install -f yappari
reboot

Note that you have to have an Internet connection in the phone. I think that's all you have to do.

Hello,

My Yappari has not been responding recently. I have been running the program for 1 year+ without any issues. The symptoms are as follows:

- Reboot n900
- Yappari launched on startup
- Connect to internet
- Yappari signs in and retrieve messages
- When I click on a new message, message box closes
- I can no longer access Yappari
- Yappari icon remains in task bar and drop down, but does not respond
- Resort to reboot, but symptom persist rendering the program unusable

I have perform a clean install as directed above.

I have sent my log to Scorpius. Please PM for log if you feel like assisting. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

After performing a clean install, it seems to have fixed it. Though I did have one crash, hence I posted above.

Scorpius however has replied with the following statement which I believe to be the cause of my issues:

There must be a line in one of the chats that must be crashing Yappari.

Try deleting the file /home/user/.yappari/chats.db

If that doesn't work then you have to find which one is the corrupted log file or delete the file /home/user/.yappari folder and synchronize contacts again.

Hola Scorpius, disculpa la pregunta pero se puede cambiar el número? He usado Yappari sin problemas pero lo malo es que fue con mi número de hace tiempo, gracias y saludos.

Yappari detecta el cambio de SIM, pero si lo cambiaste y cancelaste el registro del nuevo número lo que puedes hacer es renombrar el archivo /home/user/.config/scorpius/yappari.conf a yappari.bak o algo así y ejecutar de nuevo Yappari para que te pida el registro nuevamente.

Lo hice y me lleva hasta el momento de ingresar mi nuevo numero, lástima que no me llega el código de confirmación ni la llamada en Ecuador

If not import into Contacts, at least visualizing received vCards in Yappari and saving as .vcf would be a really nice improvement.

So far I have to ask the sender to send some vcard detail as text, which not everyone is willing to do, incuding my wife :) .

No idea how this happened, but some audio file became so big that it used up all the space of /home (/dev/mmcblk0p2) and the messages started to come up that storage is full and I cannot recieve and send any messages before I remove something. I understand that it may be near to impossible to reproduce so i'll just leave it here in case someone has a similar issue and won't know how to fix it.
In the end all I had to do was just remove the file which took 60% of the partition :)

Very easy to reproduce. Remember the N900 screen is resistive (that way the stylus works).

Put your N900 in a table with a chat window selected and put an object that press the mic button and leave it there overnight :D

Haha, right! But I'm sure that I did nothing of the sort. Is there a log for sound events? That could be helpful. Tried searching the log for the numbers of this file but nothing came up.

solyaris has chosen not to receive private messages or may not be allowed to receive private messages. Therefore you may not send your message to him/her.

@solyaris hope you can read this: Delete your /home/user/.yappari folder or just the logs /home/user/.yappari/logs

@rusuck I don't know when since I have to dedicate several full-time days of free work to fix the Windows Phone emojis.

basicamente, queria preguntarte por la posibilidad de cambiar el orden en la lista de archivos que se despliegan cuando vas adjuntar multimedia, me explico...
Por regla general, uno siempre quiere enviar la ultima foto tomada o archivo generado pero al abrir el menu con la lista correspondiente debemos desplazarnos hacia abajo por toda la lista debido a que la foto esta ubicada de utima,cuando lo ideal seria que estuviera de 1era!

por ahora solo eso,

Lamentablemente no se puede pero te voy a decir un truco que uso todo el tiempo.

Cuando tomas una foto siempre el nombre comienza por la fecha. Por ende si tomo una foto en este momento y quiero enviarla por Yappari, cuando me sale la lista escribo en el teclado 20140902 y escojo la foto de manera inmediata.

Yo también hago ese truco, mientras se va cargando la cantidad de fotos voy escribiendo la fecha y aparece rápido. Es muy facil cuando tienes pocas fotos tomadas en un mes porque solo llegaras escribir hasta el mes y te saldrá las pocas fotos tomadas, pero si tienes muchas tendrás que escribir hasta la fecha. Pero esta manera es la mas rápida.

No. I don't. But Yappari lets you choose the port.

He has to change the port in the Settings.

i did change the port as an attempt to fix my issue and now I changed it back.

You should use 443. Also try a different connection, 3G or WiFi.

When you try to see the profile picture of a contact, you saw the picture but disconnetcs you from Yappari, then you have to quit and start to be logged in again.

At least happen a few times to me.

Some smiles sent from latest ios version show up as rectangles even though they worked before. Should I test it further to test which smiles arent showing and report here or is it a known issue?

I know which smiles fail. I have fixed some, but not all. It's a lot of work.

Will exist a way that code of emoticons are read from a file which we can edit and contains the code that represents the emoticon as well as their respective path to the image. So this part will be not in hard code and so we can all help.

FWIW solyaris, the 'logs' you attached are not the real logs. You've attached conversations.

Log is in one file .. /home/user/.config/scorpius/yappari.log

Thanks qhubekela, I've now updated the file to contain the yappari log as you indicated.

This log is the whole thing from the start of times when things worked fine, so bear into account the problem is only apparent after the update to 1.47 which I made sometime in mid August.

@solyaris I haven't seen the logs but looks like you're hitting some corrupted message bug that's crashing Yappari.

Delete all the contents in the /home/user/.yappari/logs/ folder and also the file /home/user/.yappari/chats.db and then start Yappari again.
