First off all. thanks again for this great work!
One question though. When starting a new conversation you have to scroll to the contact you want to start a conversation with.
Will you be making this searchable, just like the adressbook?
that means you can type the first letter of the persons name and the possibilities show up.

I didnt see this listed under your to do list( or it would have to be a part of contacts sync) and thought it would make a nice feature.

You DON'T need to be root to edit/write/delete anything in the /home/user directory.

The guy was trying to execute a config file, which is (1) inherently not executable and (2) not marked as executable. Hence the error message.

It actually works, more or less. you have to first click on any name in the list. Then press the keyboard key and the list jumps to that letter.

There's a new version ready that some people are testing before posting it to the thread.

Yappari will be OpenSource when it's ready. These are just alpha versions, it's not supposed to be a fully working application.

Also open-sourcing it is a delicate matter. If you give the code to the world that means anyone can make a Whatsapp clone/client for any platform. I know you people would be more than happy for this, but Whatsapp Inc. will not.

Ok here's another version of Yappari.

Version 0.0.13 has the following fixes/features:

- Smileys (from other people, you can't send them for now).
- Groups: Change subject and leave group.
- Now every time you start Yappari you'll get the list of participating groups.
- Fixed bug when the screen was dimmed you didn't receive a notification on new messages.
- When you're added to a group you receive a banner notification, no more empty window pop-ups.
- Same for when somebody changes the subject of the group (banner will only be shown in the group window).

If you've been using Yappari for a while, you'll notice the first time you start 0.0.13 that you're participating in a lot of old groups. Since those groups were deleted when Yappari couldn't confirm the deletion, they're still out there. You just have to enter one by one and leave them. They'll never appear again.

amigo una pregunta..

if there versions 10,11,12,13 dosent matter if i install the last one skiping 10,11,12 or i have to install alls versions? sry for noob question

and other thing when im talking someone and a keep window showing and forget the phone ppl write me and i dont notice because it don make noise :D can u add a litle noice..

and other thing its almost same talking someone and minimise the window and ppl write me then a pops up and i have the window chat and a notifications of the new msj it should be spawn at the same windown like a normal msj .. thank you for all your work an good job :)

You can install 0.0.13 without installing any previous version (it could be your first one). Yappari will upgrade smoothly.

Notification bug while the screen is dimmed is fixed in 0.0.13

Since version 0.0.12 the notifications are attached to the same conversation window.

You should have tried 0.0.13 before asking those questions since all of those bugs are already fixed.

hola amigo disculpa mejor te escribo en español..
ya instale la version 13 y al hablar con alguien le dejo de escribir la pantalla se pone standby negro con el chat abierto y me escriben suena la notificacion toco la pantalla se ve la ventana y arriba sale en miniatura la notificacion y soanndo tengo q minimisar y volver a tocar el chat para q deje de sonar.. me logras entender? ya m fije q las notificaciones estan en la misma ventana

just wanna thank you for such a nice app, but i have a question

i just installed 0.0.13 and registered and everything went well, i am logged in, how to start a chat? how do i add my friends and such?

or i have to wait for them to add me

Just click on Create Chat and select a Contact and start chatting.

If you click on Create Chat and there are no contacts, it means that you didn't read the first post of this thread entirely.

I see that you've fixed the 'bug' that no notification is received when the screen is dimmed.
I saw it as an option to receive only private messages and not from the group.

Therefore I hope that you can buildin an option to disable notifications for each group during a configurable amount of time.

I m having problems in connecting through my 2.5G network.
It shows disconnected status and after a while shows I/O Error :confused:

that means yappari can't connect to whatsapp server.
it will try to connect to whatsapp server in 30seconds (cmiiw)

after installing 0.13 version i can see "j2se user" in yappari contacts. if i start a chat with this contact is like chatting with myself...

ya i am also same problem in 2G network but after 1 minuts its working fine in 2G network same problem in this version 0.0.12 both mode work but in 0.0.13 2G mode conect disconect

I am also facing the same problem. Yappari shows logged in from the drop down menu but it doesn't appear when u click on it. Also, I am not getting any msg that ppl send me..

Do you know your notification name is not used at all except by iPhones when they don't have your number in their address book, right?

... and only be used if your number is not in their address book already.

hey scorpius good day..

im notice another bug.. i was log in chating no problem but then, i discconect my wifi and conecct again and yappari dont conecct! :( .. i didi restar the phone and nothing.. at the top bar little yappary says logged in and i push and it dosent open. y push the yappary from menu it opens but says conneccting-conectted-logged in and the windows close.. before it was telling me io/error.. i will try restar my wifi to check if thhis works

Scorius, I've send you a PM about "Segementation Errors" and "Invalid Instruction"-errors shown in the console when starting up.
Also included a log-file.

For other people, if you keep trying it will start up eventually (for me 8 times trying or something)
