Thank you very much for your support in finding new ways to register a new N900 device to WhatsApp without the need of NITROID.

I followed the great tutorial by davdav but I had some problems.

It could be because the java port freezed, but actually I had to erase this:

This simply didn't work for me, since I was getting an UNKNOWN ERROR at this step... which shall not be the case.
Therefore I COULD NOT COMPLETE the verification using the java port...

But here it comes the interesing part:
I simply started yappari 0.18 in desperation without expecting anything more than the usual registration errors... but... IT REGISTERED SUCCESSFULLY

I also received a further SMS with the registration code.

Long story short, I'm now suggesting new users to try the following procedure since I think I didn't really needed the java port during my weird registration

1- install yappari 0.18

2- Download BlueStacks and install official WhatsApp on it

3- Begin the registration procedure but DON'T ENTER the verification code
(at this point I received an SMS on my N900 and when the SMS registration was told unsuccessful on BlueStack I was also able to get the same code via Voice call).

4- connect to the internet with the N900 and open yappari 0.18

5- insert the same phone number you used for the half registration on the official WhatsApp on BlueStacks

6- I was astonished since at this point my registration was successful. I received a further SMS with the same verification code (this time triggered by yappari, I assume) and I was seamlessly logged in! :-o

What do you think about it?
It could be possible that just the half-registration via the official WhatsApp on BlueStack removed some blocks for yappari?
As if the block is actually to start a brand new registration, while the completion of a registration already begun on the official app could be concluded by a third party app?

Please have a look at this and try to replicate the "positively weird" process I came across! ;-)

I'm sorry if I made a mess describing what I did, but I'm available to questions if something is not clear.

Hi.... I've a question

When i try to register in the original android whatsapp, the sms confirmation fail and when whatsapp try the call confirmation in nitroid i can't heard nothing in the calls; so i don't know how to register in the original android whatsapp...

What can I do??

Hai all... sorry for bad english..

Maybe today is my bad day..:(
I woke up this morning then i see yappari ask to reconfirm my registeration... I just skip the step then it not say connected or logged in.. but just yappari version. For now i use ver 0.0.18.. Everything ok before from ver 0.0.13 untill yesterday.. I use yappari about 3 month..:confused:

My question here is,, if i reenter my registeration proses. Will whatsapp block my number..??:confused:

scumbag whatsapp: refuses to make an app for maemo... bloks the one that is already done and running...

Sorry mlwane... a question... when I issue the comand:
cat /home/user/.config/scorpius/yappari.conf
I don't get any information in the xterm that you mention...

And are the same comands if I are a user of nitroid and I am register in the original android whatsapp and i have version 0.017 of yappari??? because I have the same problem that yappari ask for register again...

I've been having the same problem here for the last couple of hours. The first thing I did was to check the yappari.conf file, but everything was alright there. I assume Whatsapp figured another way to block unofficial clients, even if they were already working with registered numbers. I hope Scorpius or someone else finds a way to get through this issue. After a long wait, we finally had a way to communicate with our Whatsapp contacts, and now, at least for the moment, it's gone :(

Today morning I was using Yappari 0.0.17. I was already a registered member since 0.0.16 version. So today morning all of a sudden Yappari asked me for registration. I think Whatsapp people has blocked it. What do you think? And is there any solution?

I read from other forums that Whatsapp have move the encryption from MD5 to RC4, so is not mean that Whatsapp block the Yappari.

@Scorpius it is possible for you to change the encryption to RC4?

bcz mine is started to work properly...
only thing i've done is re-register for more then 10 times..bt then i stopped it..n after 1-2 hours yappari started to work again...n also checked dat m able to send and recieve messages..

But I do have another problem with downloading and registering with nitdroid on another N900 - when I try to download the whatsapp-client it says "Unknown Nokia N900", then it says that whatsapp will be downloaded and it is shown as being downloaded in my apps - it says "this app is compatible with your unknown Nokia N900 device", but under downloads in nitdroid it doens't appear & I'm not able to find it anywhere...is it blocked for unknown devices or do I simply have to try that several times to get it working?Any help is appreciated

I didn't do anything special...it was running it in the background for the last couple of days & after I read about it not working anymore I simply checked it out...mine is logged in & I was able to send & receive messages

No problems with Yappari here too.
2 other suggestions than the rc4....md5 thing:

- whatsapp servers have temporal problems
- a major mobile provider in germany (t-mobile) claimed problems with whatsapp ... many users have problems there

Another idea:

I have the gut instinct that Whatsapp could force all clients with status "I am using Yappari!" to re-register.
I don´t know if there is a different way to distinguish between official and unofficial clients

my yappari doesnt work, too.
if i turn on internet, yappari connected than shows me "disconnected" oder "protocol error"
i uninstalled yappari, turned off my n900 and reboot it now, installed again ... but the problems still there available -.-
has anyone the same problem like me?
or anyone know a solution about my problem?

Seems not only yappari users experience this problem, even the native clients have this aswell. Damn I switched already to a native client of secondary phonem should have waited. Now I can't use yappari again on N900 :( Unless I play with Nitdroid

This morning I was forced to re-register, too.

I'm very anxious to do so, though. Won't I mess up my registration by doing this? Or is it safe hence it is the same phone / SIM?

People claim it's working for them. Haven't you even been asked to re-enter your number? Those who have, all you did was entering it until it was working again, or what? As WhatsApp changed something on their side, how can this be even possible?

Furthermore I thought registering through the normal built-in process of Yappari was blocked a while back?

I won't do anything until this gets clarified.

My yappari works, but maybe not 100% - I just noticed that a message that was sent to me was not received by my N900 though the sender claimed that he sent it.
I didn't have to re-register again...my yappari was logged in, when I checked it.
But maybe the problems are on the servers' side...

This morning Yappari got stuck with the message 'Connecting'.
Rebooted my phone but that doesn't work. same problem keeps going on.

I started Nitdroid an installed the whatsapp client, registered and that works..
Back to Maemo/Yappari I received the message 'Connecting' again. but suddenly, after 2 minutes, i received 'Login failed'. Not so strange I think because I not have two clients with a different password (or something). I tried the option 'android=true', but that has no effect.

What I want to say is, do not register yourself again in Nitdroid before you're sure that you know what your doing. What I now going to try is to unregister myself...

Guys,

i kept on registering many times. It suddenly logged me in, got few pending msgs & it again got disconnected with back to asking for registration. Like this I managed to log in twice & again got disconnected within few seconds.

I continued to register & surprisingly I am logged on to Yappari right now since last 30 minuted, without any hassles.

Let's hope it continues this way.
