Yes, it's on his task/todo list...
If you want to receive some images now you have to search in this thread for Yappari Log Reader, my first qt project..
I don't know how long it takes for Scorpius to implement the media files. If it's gonna take a while I'll maybe improve it al little..

I don't see any problem in history of the group chats or any other conversations.

I think you made the mistake to run Yappari as root. That would change the permissions of the log files. Then when you start Yappari again as the user, it doesn't have the right permissions to write the log files.

As explained in Post 1282 here is an update (v0.0.4) of my YappariLogReader.
With this it is possible to view and download multimedia messages.
The update is that you can see any progress and it is not downloading already existing items anymore.

Since Scorpius said to me that the next release can show pictures I'll not develop this any further..

Do you know why my shift+fn+<key> combinations don't work inside of the chat input box? Can it be made to work?

Will you eventually add searchable contacts, like in the Conversations app?

yo compre el n900 hace como 1 año y siempre me sintio la falta de whatsapp porque todos mis amigos prefieren hablar por alla que por sms. Era lo unico que le faltaba al cel porque por lo demas no lo cambiaria jamas por ningun bb o android o iphone.

are there Shift+Fn+key combinations in Maemo??

Anyway those are Qt standard QTextInput fields, I have no control of that. That would be a Qt problem, not a Yappari problem.

About the searchable contacts, they are searchable. Select any contact (so the current focus is in the contact list) and then type letters, it should jump to the contact which the first letter is the one you pressed.

EDIT: I could eventually add a quick search field or something...

can u add the option of viewing the numbers I know we can see the name but if I wanna store an un registered number to my mobile . I have to ask them. then I have to explain how whatsapp is a ***** and crazy noob programmers . and why I love my N900 all over again.

Im notice some bug with latest upgade 0.0.21...

I just upgrade from 0.0.19 to 0.0.21 yesterday.. All work fine and i love the smileys.. But i notice my phone show " connection fail. try again.? " this is not error from yappari. But error connection to my home network. My phone cant connect to my network automaticly.. i need to connect it manualy..

This happen when i cameback from office, mean phone change from office network to home network..

What i know is yappari just wait a connection and sleep if there are no connection..

I've no problem. have the user the right permissions to the yappari.conf file (home/user/.config/scorpius/yappari.conf)??
if that is not the problem then you have to post your log file (next to the conf)

Speaking of this, it would be nice if this search behave as in other N900 apps, like the contacts, where when you press 2 letters instead of 1, intead of searching for names that starts with the 2nd letter, it would search for names starting with both letters. I found that behaviour much more useful, and also consistent with regular GTK+ (I use this type-search feature in my PC a lot in different GTK+ applications).

it is already like that, you just have to press "ab" more quickly behind each other. or just keep pressing "a" to scroll through all the "a's"

@llucax I would have to code that and intercept the signals, and even then I'm not sure if it's possible using Qt. Right now is just standard Qt widgets that do all of that.

i have a question. Do i understand it right that i cant use Yappari (n900) and Wazapp (N9) parallel ?

i installed for a few days ago on both devices (yappari 0.0.20 on N900 wazapp 0.2.7 on N9) but there was conflicts and problems. yappari showes me always today "registration attempt too recent " i updated to yappari 0.2.1 but it dident help. but i had to wait xxx.minutes and rennstalled yappari 0.020 now yappari runs without problems and i logged in . But in my N9 device i delete my Wazapp account.

Is it possible to run Wazapp and Yappari parallel with the same phonenumer and one sim-card I place my sim to the N9 and use yappari without sim only with wlan

You can't use the same number in two different devices at the same time Jhonny. (Why anyone would want that?).

In the WhatsApp protocol, the password is the IMEI. Since two different phones have two different IMEIs, they have two different passwords, and just one of them will be registered.

i use my n900 only at home and my n9 outside that was the reason. but if its not possible i have to take a new simcard then i use 2 simcards and its possible to use it on both devices.

Since the update to the 0.0.21 version I seem to send empty apps from time to time during a conversation.

I just got this after the update, didn't got this once on the 0.0.19 and/or earlier versions. Its a bit annoying for the receiver(s), just letting you know. For the rest, doing great :)

And what were you doing exactly to send that? Yappari will never send something without you pressing enter or clicking the Send button.

DELETE the whole directories /home/user/.config/scorpius AND /home/user/.yappari (BOTH COMPLETELY DELETED).

REBOOT YOUR PHONE (to ensure no weird application is running or Yappari in the background)

Start Yappari CLICKING ON THE ICON in your Applications List (DON'T RUN IN IN XTERM)

Type again your country code and phone number, Yappari will detect you are already registered.

Enjoy.

working without do anything more.

Bugs i noticed :
1- every time i open yappari it asks for a name..
2- every time i open yappari it close the chats of the last session
3-it must read the status from the config file, and it doesn't
4-it reset the "last seen .." every session (this shouldn't happen)
5-it display "unknown socked" randomly

Yappari doesn't read the status from the config file. It's just there for debugging reasons. To change the status must be exclusively from the application.
