Thank for yappari, I was able to register with no problems with version 0.0.20.

Is it possible to change the notification type used when a message is received? I have my n900 set to flash red for emails and blue for IM or SMS. At the moment yappari seems to use the new email notification and flashes my LED red, but I would like it to flash blue to show that it is not just another email. When I am at my PC I read my emails there so I usually ignore the phone when it is flashing red at me :)

Change the pattern in /etc/hildon-desktop/notifications-groups.conf and reboot your phone after that. It's been said before in the thread use the search function.

Scorpius, this is only for the LED indication i think. is it also possible to change something like this for vibration. so I can disable vibration for IM or something??

The vibration is attached to your profile so you would have to disable the vibration for your profile, and that would disable the vibration for *everything*.

Profiles in the N900 are not very good.

The other solution is that I code it, and add options to enable/disable vibration in Yappari and customization of the vibration/LED patterns.

I could do it after the client is ready (after it does everything an original Whatsapp client does). That's like a year from now :rolleyes:

You can change vibration patterns by editing /etc/mce/mce.ini. At the bottom is the line PatternChatAndEmail and a description of the numbers just above. You could try setting the OnPeriod to 0 to disable it, but I never tried it so don't know if it would work. I have edited my mce.ini to change the Policy to only vibrate when the display is turned off. The default was to always vibrate even as I was reading the messages, which was annoying.

That definitely doesn't happen to me.
Just writing my regular message with the keyboard and hit send on the screen once. Sometimes it sends my message and one/two/three empty apps. I just thought I should mention it since I never got this before the last update.

At least I know it's my fault now.

Bugs i noticed :

Soy maracucho, vivo en Dallas y uso el n900 desde que salio al mercado. Ahora que se que Yappari es producto nacional me gusta mas que antes!

Sigue asi con tu app que estas dejando Vzla en alto (aunque suene cliche).

Thanks Scorpius for this wonderful software!

One problem I discovered so far though: I lose all my previous conversations after reboot. There aren't any conversations listed in the Main screen of Yappari. I don't have any problems with configuration or so, the config and log file also have the right rights.

I'm running version 0.21 on CSSU 21.2011.38-1

Chat persistence is not implemented. Every time you close Yappari you lose the open chats.

Click on any contact and then type a letter, it should jump to the first contact with that letter.

@davdav the only thing that says is that maybe Whatsapp has been blocked by your cellphone provider. Otherwise it looks like even you think you're connected to the 3G network, you're not.

Can't resolve server address means that the connection can't reach your cellphone provider DNS servers, or that they have blocked Whatsapp servers.

It's not a Yappari bug.

Then your internet provider blocked it?

It's not a Yappari bug is a problem with your network.

sending smiley's is a great update for Yappari, it works very fine for me and I don't have any bugs on it.

I hope we soon have the possibility to send and receive multimedia message's, that would be a valuable update for me.

A notification that someone send a file would already be immense. The YappariLogReader works fine for now, but you can't yet know if someone sends a file without them telling you ^^

Multimedia reception for 0.0.22? Great!!! :) Using 0.0.21 version and works perfectly. Yappari is the whatsapp client more respectful to privacy and the one that less resources consumes. And is getting better week by week. Hip Hip Hurray! XD

Will receiving multimedia (pictures) work the same way it does in Whatsapp, i.e. will they be displayed in-line with the conversation to open a larger version by clicking it?

Yeah you will see the thumbnail in the conversation window and (so far) it will open the browser with the picture when you click it.

The only difference (so far) is that Yappari won't download it to your gallery. Why? Because in my experience most pictures people send are crap to see just one time and forget about them. If you want to keep the picture just save it from the browser.

Maybe in the future after other more important features are implemented I could think about saving them to your gallery.

Just brilliant. You can view images once or save them for later use if desired (which is totally your own choice then) So no "junk" pictures to mess up your library.

If you may ever implement a way to directly store such images, please make it completely optional (via menu or the .conf file)
