Hi Scorpius.

First of all TY for the great work u'r doing here.

I've tried to change the name of myself on yappari.
although Yappri seem to let the change, the conversation doesn't change.

It is no big deal, the only reasson I wanna change it is b'cuz Hebrew is RTL
and it is confusing when my contacts are RTL but my name is LTR.

Are you using a different theme + a different font type? It might be that the font size is too big. When you send the message does it look like a normal sentence then?

In WhatsApp, the name is only used when you send messages to iPhones. In all other platforms (as well as in Yappari) the name your friends will see is the name in their address books for you.

That's why after receiving tons of request for that feature I posted here something like "I don't really know why you want this because it's totally useless".

EDIT: If you meant that the Change Name dialog is always left to right and it's not set correctly in your language, then I must have forgotten to set the direction to "auto". Sorry about that, it'll be fixed in the next release.

Hi Scorpius.

Let me try to explain:
My contacts are RTL and it look in Yappari just fine (name and msg).
My name in Yappari is "You" and it is LTR (both name and msg).
I don't now if changing direction to auto will do the work
since ther is no Hebrew as device lang'.
I think the change should be as the name change to RTL lang' the Yappari UI should be RTL.

As I wrote b4: It is no big deal, if it is too much work - leave it.

i think my font is normal... i'm using my custom modded theme... why doesnt work then? in the sent message it' is ok can you add an option for the font? and the value to send every file we want? i mean filename.* with every kind of ext

Now also you can use CTRL+V in Yappari to paste any copied message. :)

Use the normal system font for now. As for the any file: it's not that simple. You're only allowed to send audio, images and videos in WhatsApp, not any file, and the big problem are the viewers for those.

Yes sometimes I changed network directly instead of disconnected then connected to another (using ConnectNow widget).

However even if 3G connection was established first, waited for a while, then started Yappari, it always showed "waiting for connection", same for version 0.0.23 & 0.0.25.

Observing from the log, both version showed "Network connection changed: Offline" at the moment. But if I click "Sync Now" button, 0.0.23 will show the log as below:

Synchronizing contacts...
Requesting chunk of 50 contacts
Network connection changed: Online
Current active connection: VIBO行動網 (<== look weird maybe because I am in Taiwan and the name of service provider is Chinese)
Connecting to bin-short.whatsapp.net:5222 ...
Connected successfully

And Yappari itself changed the status from "waiting for connection" to connecting => connected => logged in, then I could start to chat. But for 0.0.25, log stayed in "Network connection changed: Offline" and didn't attempt to sync or connect to server.

For CSSU, yes I have CSSU installed, but it's the latest testing version instead of stable one.

Could anyone give suggestions for such symptom?

I don't have a clue why Yappari can't detect your connection... It works for everybody else. I wonder what's wrong with your phone...

Hi to everyone! Sorry for my english again. Great job @Scorpius

I'm wondering if you could add reasonably some features in ToDo list; anyway.. "yappari", it's just usability/comfort features. Just brainstorming:

1.- chat button integrated in contact profile like tlf, FB, SMS, .. or it's maemo devs work?
2.- What about contacts pics?
3.- Contact chat-message select/copy/paste?
4.- nº/name of participants in groupchats?

All works amazing, fast, no crash, but i've seen two issues,

1.- chat participants are almost allways offline, but i receive 2 "V". Whatsapp works by events too? I don't know how it works. They can receive chat messages when they are offline?
2.- a hidden menu is showed when selecting chat name in chat list for 2 seconds, ONLY for a few contacts.. (o_0)!! but it says "toolbar". Clicking on it nothing happens, but would be interesting to put there something like "erase that chat", "Erase all messages from this contact", "send something", "mute sound of that chat", "contact info", "see his/her pic" an so on.. or are you just thinking what to put there? could you replicate that?

hey Scorpius thanks for a great application, idk if this one has been reported or not, but its annoying when u have a long text to write on a box, because after a certain time a screen wont navigate to where the cusor is so you can see what you are typing (though you know what you type, but we are human we make mistake), incase of an error or you want to erase something, but its hard to do it because youa cant see a cusor though the text box is still accepting inputs, i would like to see this fixed, the screenshot below will tell you more of a situation i gues, thanks in advancehttp://ubuntuone.com/4lWsiSmfc2dJcDmr7MvNzZ

I'll fix it (dunno when), but what about just don't write such long lines? Nobody *has* to type a long text in one single text message. WhatsApp is not charging you by the message you know...

First, thank you so much for the amazing app!

Second, I'm so sorry if this was asked before! I tried searching for it though!

So my problem is that some contacts has multiple numbers with multiple Whatsapp accounts but under the same name, on Whatsapp it shows me the multiple accounts, but with Yappari I can only see one account! I don't know why, I tried synching and it didn't work!

Do I have to put the numbers under different names?!

Hai all,, i dont know if it just me facing this problem..

I have problem in recieving image.. When someone sent me a picture, yappari will goes crazy..:confused:

It going disconnected then trying to connect again.. after logged in it say "protocol acception" then disconnect again.

For now i cant even recieve any image that my friends sent..
This happen after upgrade to v25...

Yeah it has been reported and It has been discussed before several times.

That's something I need to fix. I wonder why somebody would have two phones registered with WhatsApp, but looks like it is the case with some of you guys' contacts. Yappari assumes people have only one phone registered in WhatsApp (because it is very dumb to have more than one), so that part has to be modified.

I had this problem with multiple numbers for one contact when my friend moved to Germany from Greece the other day. I had both numbers saved with their contact because they still use both, for now I split them into 2 contacts. Anyway, these are their personal phones :)

help my yappari says connection refused for over a month now. it only login after numerous agonising retrys and restarting of the app.. am fed up. i av nitdroid installed.

i just reinstalled it this evening hoping it will be solved but to no avail. a friend of mine has the same problem. though sometimes ago i had my nitdroid uninstalled and reflashed my device. i reinstalled yappari and used the android settings without installing nitdroid. i thought there was no need again.

Right, I have two improvements I can suggest for you.

1) In previous versions, off-line messages showed the time that they were sent, now when I receive an off-line message it shows the time I received the message. Can this be reverted back to the original way?

2) Receiving off-line images is not yet implemented or cannot be done? either way can we get a dialogue box or a message saying who sent us an image, instead of the protocol exception error?

1.- Already reported. This version of Yappari implements a newer version of the WhatsApp protocol (1.2) so a lot of things that worked before doesn't work anymore and have to be rewritten.

2.- I don't know why it doesn't work, but it doesn't work. I need time to find out what's different. WhatsApp servers send the image corrupted and I don't know why, and I have to write a program (let's say a WhatsApp protocol analyzer) to see what official clients do different to receive the image properly (maybe something during sendClientConfig()).

Because smiley's are more important then:

- Chat persistence.
- Creation of groups, adding participants, etc.
- Notifications customization (turn off notification for a contact/group)
- Support of other multimedia messages.

Don't think so. You are lucky he added these already. We got about 100 smiley's already lol.

My brother sent me an image while yappari was offline. Now it disconnects right away after connecting.
Could you check the log please?

Duke read the thread... Yappari has a bug that I have found no way to fix yet and can't receive offline images.
