It is indeed, and when the time comes, I will hand off a backup of the forum software, database, and Talkmaster responsibilities to who/where ever the "official" maemo.org will be hosted.

Reggie why don't you lead the planning for the transition?
after all, you've led it for so long why not continue and involve others from the community so that there are as less disruptions as possible.

At this stage it's only a matter of time anyway before he'll get canned. Next to go from Nokia is the S40 because it isn't WP.

Then as Microsoft has discarded the few souls that bought WP7.5 devices, by not upgrading nearly new devices to WP8. Nokia will be left competing for the 1-2% share of the mobile market, the "suckers" if you will, that think walled gardens are great, that don't have any need or concept of file editing or sending, and have not yet been burned by Nokia or Microsoft*.

And the curtains come down. The play is over.


*Think Microsoft's no migration from Windows CE 6.5 > WP7/7.5 and WP7.5>WP8, or Nokia killing off Symbian, Maemo/Meego, Qt.

Maybe we should all start prasing Mr. Elop, he may keep funding for this place going as it would surely be the only source of positive attention he would recieve.

No wonder Market Watch described him as "the worst CEO ever".

we have had "maemocommunity.org" registered for some time now. Just been waiting for the community to develop the consensus that it's time to move. I suggest people go search and read the previous threads where the move was discussed.

It's a big plus that Reggie is now willing to move the forum. We never had that representation before.

Well well well i just read Qgil's post so he obviously took on board my request and i personally thank you Qgil for doing so, please keep in touch with this community by letting us know from time to time but please i ask you be more specific and less of the baffling talk.

I'm not sure anyone but you on this board found Qgil's post "baffling talk".

Please, if you don't understand something, read it a couple of times to digest it instead of commencing on narrow minded attacks against the person.

With respect to you as a member you obviously don't know enough of the reasoning behind my comments as you have not been on here long enough to know but i responded to his attack against Dan on the talk Nokia stock thread and for your information if you read enough you will find out many people do not understand even after reading his posts several times they can be somewhat baffling, that's Qgil for you but he has a position and holds it well regardless of any talk against him OK.
